farmer_ben
hi people ive just bought my heavy duty lift kit for my 86 110 and the rear springs look f ing big and don't look like my spring compressor will compress them ,so could i just unbolt everything apart from the a bar thing and lift the chassis away from the axle with a fork lift and slot the new springs in ??? also on average how long does a lift kit take to fit ?? i am rather mechanically minded (changed rear crank seal in a day by my self ) any help would be great!! stuck
Yes you can, the axle will drop far enough to allow you to fit the springs. How long it will take depends on how seized everything is (like every job on a LR!) & how many toys you have to cut them off. I fitted a full Gwyn Lewis challenge kit in a day. HTH's, Mick. vulcan bomber
Just undo your rear shocks and the back axle will drop away enough to change springs.
