TheRecklessEngineer
Not me, or anything to do with me, but it popped up on Hackaday. I thought some on here might be interested. http://dmn.kuulalaakeri.org/dmn-edc/ It's able to control a Bosch VP37 injection pump - this is the one that's fitted to the electronic 300TDi, although it's shown controlling a VAG engine of some sort. Anyone got an electronic 300TDi and care to experiment? Or let me experiment? Now, if only someone would do common rail...
elbekko
Interesting. I wonder how you'd go about tuning a TDi though, attach a camera to the exhaust and let the software monitor the black smoke?
simonr
That's quite cool! Common rail will come. Obviously a lot more complicated but with the number of CR engines out there, someone will figure it out. Si
TheRecklessEngineer
Interesting. I wonder how you'd go about tuning a TDi though, attach a camera to the exhaust and let the software monitor the black smoke? Funnily enough, yes! You can use a smoke meter similar to what's used in the MOT test for diesel particulate emissions.
simonr
Could you use one of the ionic detectors more like a smoke alarm? Si
