ajh
110 fitted with 33" wheels; +5" shocks, +2" front turret, X-arms, wide angle A-frame joint, medium duty coils, etc. Do you think that extended bump stops will be required?
landroversforever
Depends on how the +5'' are mounted at the back. Remembering you want the bumpstop to hit before the shock bottoms out. That and body clearance. Edited to add, I have +5" OME on the front with +2" turrets and standard height springs. The standard bumpstops hit before the shock bottoms out
ajh
These are the terrafirma pin to pin shocks with the corresponding mount. On a similar topic, on this setup are X-springs or dislocation cones going to be needed?
landroversforever
So you have an extended mount at the back? should be good with the standard bumpstops. But things can vary, I would cycle the suspension without the springs to make sure the bumpstop hits before the shock.
ajh
Yeah, I will, it's just one of those things you try to figure out in advance when every shipment is 4000km
Ex Member
The problem with testing the fronts is the radius arm bushings will bottom long before the shocks will max out. You will obviously dislocate with that setup so retainers or dislocation devices are needed. I assume you are dealing with brake lines and propshafts as well. ajh
Brake lines yes, haven't done something about propshafts yet.
ajh
Any advice on dealing with propshaft issues?
Boris113
Check to see if they are binding when the suspension is fully flexing, if so then you will need wide angle props. I had a britpart one first (needless to say I didn't buy another from them but thats another story). I subsequently bought a pair of them from paddocks which were of much better quality and not too expensive either. Depending on how bad shipping costs are for you, it may be cheaper to have them custom made locally.
ajh
OK, I was more worried about having the slip-joint out too far. Thanks.
