GW8IZR
Hi all Vehicle is an '84 90 which I'm mid rebuild - new TD5 bulkhead, engine will be a 300tdi ex Discovery & heater is original 90. In the process of rebuilding the heater I need to replace the matrix, I think a UTP1725 with straight pipes might be a better fit than the down turned pipes on the original. Bulkhead is bare just painted and engine is still in the Discovery so cant really measure yet but I need to order the matrix. I'm sure this will have been done before so any words of wisdom please? Ex Member
The matrixes are different sizes. You need to get the right one to fit the heater you have.
GW8IZR
Well that certainly makes the choice easier :-) Do you know if it is it a huge difference ? at the end of the day its a box and a fan so I probably could make either fit if it were worthwhile to make the pipe runs easier. Anyway downward pipes seems to be the easiest way. The bulkhead is now in place so I can make more measurements now. Thanks for the info. Orgasmic Farmer
It is a BIg difference unfortunately. My mate had a spare alloy upgraded matrix he let me have for mine which had straight pipes but it was about 5 cm too high and about 2 cms too narrow. Got a new bent pipe one in the end. Nowt wrong with em!
GW8IZR
Spot on thanks both. Bent pipes it is then ;-)
