Ben_J85JTY
I finally got round to fitting 2 extra LED lights to the rear of the 110 today and found something a little strange. I wired them so they are switched from the cab and also come on with the reversing light. Both ways work, however when the switch is turned on no only do the new and old reversing lights come on, but so does the fuel pump! Going to need a relay to isolate the circuit so no big drama but strange non the less!
western
Td5's have a lot of items which operate with a switched earth, instead of the earlier vehicle where the 12v feed is switched, maybe you have a stray feed via earth
Ben_J85JTY
After posting earlier I realised why. I had left the Rover in reverse gear to test the circuit so when I flicked the switch it was energising the whole circuit.
western
ah, that would make the pump run, because ign would be on too.
cackshifter
Feed the LEDs via a diode from the reversing light circuit - that way if you energise them from your switch it can't feed back. Probabaly a good idea to use a diode with the switch circuit too, as otherwise the reversing light circuit could feed back through your switch to wherever it is connected.
