AncientGeek
Due to the variable quality of the fuel here (and my inclination to do dangerous things with spark advance), I'm interested in fitting a knock sensor and connecting it to MS. Perhaps a wide spectrum bosch sensor with a KnocksenseMS box. Anyone done this? Where to mount the sensor on the block? I assume gems and thor motors had knock sensors.. what do they look like and where are they mounted?
Quagmire
Two different types of sensors-later blue ones that screwed into the head or block somewhere, and earlier black ones that are like an eyelet that is used to bolt through and clamp the sensor. I have a pair of blue ones i picked up ages ago and have not got round to doing anything with them yet! No idea where they go exactly. elbekko
For the Thor they're mounted on each bank, a little bit above the sump line, pretty much in the middle. As far as I've heard it's pretty hard to calibrate knock sensors for MS, but if you do succeed, definitely post it up!
tvrtasmin
Anybody know what the thread size is on the factory blue knock sensors. I'm removing them to fit a blanking plug for my 4.6 build using a carb.
