mudmagnet Posted January 20, 2013 Share Posted January 20, 2013 hi im after a bit of advice on how to open the bonnet on a 300 disco it always used to open but now when i pull the cable it only opens the bonnet about 10 mm and no further where it used to open as far as the safety hook before, is there a way of opening the bonnet from the outside Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
teabag Posted January 20, 2013 Share Posted January 20, 2013 Try pressing down on the bonnet above the catch while another person pulls the lever, if it works, lubricate the lock and the pin and make sure the cable is fixed securely and not frayed. Yes the is away of accessing the lock to unlock with a long screwdriver, it will mean cutting a hole in the grill but then they are cheep to replace.
