CJ1
I am wanting to replace my rocker gasket and I don't know if it is because I am getting frustrated or what, but I have read both Manuals I have for the Discovery and can't find any information on the correct torque setting for the rocker gasket. I have a 1996 Discovery TDi Auto. Does anyone know the torque setting for the rocker gasket please?
SPendrey
8NM for the stud, 10NM for the nuts on them. Good luck doing the one at the back!
CJ1
Thanks. I thought there were only 3 bolts on top?
Boydie
There are only the thrtee nuts, the studs are what the nuts screw down onto, Pendry was refering to the fact that unless you are using a 1/4" drive torque wrench you wont fit it on the rear nut due to the fire wall/gutter above the nut! elbekko
Then a Discovery must be a little roomier than an RRC - there's barely enough space to take off the nut there.
CJ1
Ah, thanks for that. My brain hadn't thought that far ahead I have just looked through my photo's to see what you mean. Looks like I need to buy another torque wrench Thank you for the heads up on that. Saved me from a huge headache.
