Adhesive help!

So, I've got to glue some window clips...

...onto the bottom of my front windows.

I've tried Q-Bond but it doesn't achieve a good bond with the glass - too smooth I guess.

Does anyone know what is used in the factory? Something grey coloured IIRC...

My next attempt will be to use some Sikaflex - will I have the same problem?

Any idea how best to score the surface of the window to allow an adhesive to bond?

Could maybe try an Aquarium sealant, If it can hold a fish tank together then it should be up to the job. Not sure how well it will stick to the clips but might be worth a go.

This is the stuff I've used in the past on my vivarium.

If you already have sikaflex then use that, sikaflex 255fc is used to bond transparent armour (bullet proof glass) in armoured cars so should be adequate.

Use a primer on both surfaces, such as Dinitrol 530, and you will have permanent adhesion. You will only need a tiny amour of primer - brush it on to both surfaces, it'll dry in about thirty seconds, then apply your sikaflex sealer as normal.
