gavfurn Posted July 17, 2013 Author Share Posted July 17, 2013 any suggestions fellas, getting quite abit of black smoke after doing the gasket, (my thoughts are its from the charger it was caked in carbon but tried clean it abit so it may be loose blowing through) but yet the smoke changes depending on the circumstances, e.g pulling off it'll struggle from time to time, or changing to 2nd it struggles and black smoke. can be crusing in 4th at 30 ish an can be white or very slightly light blue, (worrying) how the colours and how they keep changing, had some black before but carnt remember seeing the others, do I need worry or any suggestions to what to try???? benthng Posted July 18, 2013 Share Posted July 18, 2013 From description seems like its under power... Struggle pulling off, apply too muchpedal, black smoke. Is it smoking on idle with air con on or Have the fuel timing been retarded previously? Cause might be: 1. (Smoke on pulling off) FIP retard causing low power then resetting it would restore performance response and consequentially reduce the black smoke. If still smoke then reduce fueling by adjusting smoke screw. 2.
