Cut out or low temp thermostat in v8 defender

Recommended Posts

OEM, just get a decent radiator and fan. Low temp thermostat will do absolutely nothing if overheating is your issue (just means it will take marginally longer to overheat..but it still will)

A orifice plate is for racing only when you can accurately predict your cooling requirements.

I ran a 3.9v8 in a defender offroad with standard stat and twin electric fans (plus oil to water doughnut cooler), I had no problem other than when the radiator fins filled with mud and hence got no air flow with the fans.

I would suggest a rear radiator install if used heavily offroad so it does not fill with mud.
