Low temp thermostat will do absolutely nothing if overheating is your issue (just means it will take marginally longer to overheat..but it still will) A orifice plate is for racing only when you can accurately predict your cooling requirements. zardos Posted February 4, 2014 Share Posted February 4, 2014 I ran a 3.9v8 in a defender offroad with standard stat and twin electric fans (plus oil to water doughnut cooler), I had no problem other than when the radiator fins filled with mud and hence got no air flow with the fans.
