Warthog
Purchased a "Bearmach HD Track bar" for the Defender the otherday and fitted it this affo. But the bar (to me) seems too short? Its measures 42" with the rest of the distance (in the region of 48" 1/4) needing to be taken up by the Ball joints thread. This leaves very little thread in the ends of the bar?? Has anyone else used the "Bearmach" HD track bar? If so any chance of a couple of measurements to see what the bar measures? Any input, welcomed Cheers
Litch
Just been out to measure mine and it is 44-inches so you have a problem, I would guess that at 2-inches shorter there won't be sufficient thread in the bar to be safe. I bought mine from Green Oval and the drag-link (the front one) was too long, turned out the engineering company who made the bars had mis-measured and a batch went out over length. It took me a while to realise that was the problem as you don't expect a new part to have been manufactured incorrectly. I must admit he was as good as gold and a new bar (correct length this time) was in the post the next day, the old bar is now acting as reinforcing to my new garden path!
