tuko
I was explaining to friend last night of my soon to be rear shock mount mods and he's told me that if I raise the lower shock mounts that I will run into problems snapping the shocks lower pins on full articulation. He then went further saying that "eye to eye" shocks would better suit my needs. Therefore the question today, what rear shock in standard length, which is set up as eye to eye should I consider? Quickly searching the internet I've seen that some have used Nissan Patrol rear shocks, but they are hard to come by here, is there any other alternatives? .........or am I over complicating things and there is no prob with standard shocks with the mods I have on the go? Nigelw
Where can I find your build thread as I don't know what you have done so far! You could try something from Fox as they make any configuration you want.

Nigelw
I see, if it is terrain damage then perhaps thick walled pipe welded on as a protection cup around the bushing and pin but yes I see your point with moving over to the eye-eye set up as it would remove the pin sticking out the bottom issue, don't know shock legths at all but could see the axles shock bracket easily modded with a home made backet drilled to suit bolts that could be welded and braced into the original. All you need do is find out what lengths they are fully open and ask a supplier for shocks with correct configuration.
Nigelw
Also, thought the idea of plating out the existing lower shock mount and going back to std mounts was a good option that allows you to retain original parts, so much easier to get spares quickly if it's a common part.
