Laptom
All, Can someone help me with the pictures attached how my Pinion is setup (too high or too low) of my diff of the RRC 1986 (standard diff 3.54 10 splines). I cannot understand compleetly how to read the manual regarding this. https://picasaweb.google.com/116192269111310442289/19Maart2014
SORNagain
Did you put the blue marking on the ring or on the pinion? Those pics don't mean much to me either....
Snagger
I think the drawn diagrams are of the pinion teeth, not the crown wheel.
Laptom
I put it on the crown wheel. That was what I understood from the manual, but I also don't know how to look at the result...
elbekko
From what I can see there, it seems to be meshing at the top of the teeth? If that's so, it's way too high. You should be able to see where the gears meshing have worn away the paint. Maybe the diff isn't set up correctly side-to-side either, causing the paint to not be forced away? You should be able to do most of it by feel, then double-check with the paint.
