red90 driver
Can anyone help with information for rebuilding the brake servo on a 200TDi defender? Typically with these things, mine is fitted with the most expensive one to replace! Looking from the front of the truck towards the back, the vacuum hose is top right, and the 2 bolts holding the master cylinder are at 4 and 10 o'clock. Is it a PITA to rebuild one of these? There appaears to zero info in the LR workshop manual 'if faulty, then replace'. Help? Please? Whimper? Chocolate hobnobs traded for any relevant info. western
IIRC there is no information about rebuild or replacing the diaphragms in any brake servos, it much easier & probably much safer to replace the complete unit with a new one, I couldn't even get my old duff servo [type 50] open to have a look inside. Yep, I remember trying to strip a series servo (can't remember what for, though) and it had none of it. In the end I damaged it beyond repair getting it appart. My advice, get a new/good second hand one.

At the time service kits were available off the shelf. I think that servo was the same type as fitted to my SIII.
