travm
Hi, I've had a look around here as well as a general search on the interwebs and haven't been able to find details on how / if people have mounted LS1/2 type coil packs in a Range Rover. Anyone done it? Pics? Cheers, Trav.
Team Idris
Mostly ford focus style wasted-spark is all I've seen. These 4 port bricks are pretty easy to come by. I like the look of those LS1-2 though
FridgeFreezer
Are we talking with Megasquirt of standard factory engine management?
travm
Sorry for the wait on reply - MS2V3. O, and I'm wondering how to physically mount them - electronics I'm good with.
Adam001
The LS series coils are pretty good but they are not so fond of heat! Mount them as far away from the exhaust as possible, near the front of the engine would be best. The standard fitment on the LS engines on top of the cam covers causes problems when racing and it's one of the first things to be changed (moved to above the inlet manifold) You'll want different plugs as well, figured you probably know that though. travm
On the plugs Adam - wasn't aware, do you have the detail?
Adam001
I don't, no, LS engines typically use iridium or minimum of a double platinum which run off different voltages. Iridium for example actually needs less than copper due to the smaller electrode So in theory LS coils on a rover V8 copper plug could underpower them. Best googling the voltages for both engines, it might not be a issue.
