LS1 coils on a Rover 4.6

Hi,

I've had a look around here as well as a general search on the interwebs and haven't been able to find details on how / if people have mounted LS1/2 type coil packs in a Range Rover.

Anyone done it? Pics?

Cheers,

Trav.

The LS series coils are pretty good but they are not so fond of heat! Mount them as far away from the exhaust as possible, near the front of the engine would be best. The standard fitment on the LS engines on top of the cam covers causes problems when racing and it's one of the first things to be changed (moved to above the inlet manifold)

You'll want different plugs as well, figured you probably know that though.

I don't, no, LS engines typically use iridium or minimum of a double platinum which run off different voltages. Iridium for example actually needs less than copper due to the smaller electrode

So in theory LS coils on a rover V8 copper plug could underpower them. Best googling the voltages for both engines, it might not be a issue.
