Boydie Posted January 8, 2015 Share Posted January 8, 2015 I guess the simple answer is cost, you can adapt any gearbox to fit any engine -- all you may need is an adaptor plate to mate the R380 to your 5 cylinder BMW engine, other mods required may be the clutch, the transfer box and or the prop-shafts and the internal cover over the transmission tunnel, you may also need to look at the electronics if your original gearbox is electronically tied into the engine management--- the question is of course why do you want to do it????
