Defender
Hi Everyone, I was wondering if someone may be able to help me. I need to fit a 228mm clutch to an LT95 gearbox (OM606 conversion), I was told that to get a 228mm plate the right size I needed to order a series, 9 inch clutch plate because this is 10 spline. I've done this but the plate seems to move on the splines, although the splines aren't wide enough. Is there a difference in the splines between the RR Classic and the Series clutch plate? Or have I ordered the wrong part, the code is 591704. I can't find anything that mentions the spline diameter it always just seems to mention the centre size e.g. 10 spline 1 inch 1/8th. Thanks,
tacr2man
IIRC landrover gearbox are only two sorts of spline fine (later gearboxes) and the coarse all the early gearboxes eg lt95 4 speed , series gearboxes . 8510290 is the 9.5 inch 591704 is the 9 inch
