exmoor4x4
Probably a stupid question but I am building a challenge truck on a discovery 1 and and hoping to fit terrafirma +5" shocks but what spring do you advise? Medium duty or light springs?
Cynic-al
Depends on the weight. Some people put heavy duty springs on then reduce the truck weight and think it's great that the springs are dislocating completely missing the point that the other one doesn't compress at all. Look up the poundage of the spring and compare it to how much the spring compresseses with a quarter the weight on it and half the weight on it. I run soft springs, great offroad but I wouldn't fancy it at speed without some really strong shocks. Even then you'd have to be careful. Team Idris
I'm at zero lift and I run RC rears up front. With the hydraulic winch and pto pump there is a lot of nose weight. I doubt lightweight springs will hold it up?
muddy
Springs should really be the last thing you fit once it's built, weighed and been for a test run. I'd leave it on the disco springs for now. Will.
