dailysleaze
Can anyone recommend a strap wrench that is useful for holding shock absorbers or pulleys on the front of the engine? It must be rubberised, as i've found ones with the nylon webbing are useless. Chain straps are also useless and chew up what you're trying to hold. Most ones i've seen are for oil filters, but I want something that can handle a range of diameters (for pulleys), can be threaded around an object (instead of looped over) and fits between the gaps in the front springs. TSD
Maybe read this thread? I like the metal handled version of the Boa wrench, the plastic handled one is too flimsy for my taste (it twists under tension). The strap is ~25mm wide, but will go through most LR springs with the weight off.
dailysleaze
Cheers for the thread. That Boa wrench looks the business. I'm fed up with buying "average" tools that hardly do the job where a recommendation would have saved me the trouble!
