keithjh
Hi All, Right I have a 200tdi from a disco fitted in the 90, all is running fine with the only problem being the temp gauge, reading stupidly high. I presume this is caused by the sender unit not being compatible with the TD temp gauge. So basically I would like to replace the gauge and sender unit with something better (VDO etc) SO what do I need? I keep getting conflicting answers when searching the net. jai_landrover
Steve Parker does the correct sensor with matched resistance values to match old guage and the correct fine or coarse thread depending on which type you reqire L
ejparrott
Fit an aftermarket VDO gauge. I have that in addition to my series 3 gauge and it tells me exactly what it's up to

Bowie69
VDO is a good make, can be a bit pricey, Durite are also pretty decent: http://www.carbuildersolutions.com/uk/water-temperature-gauge That comes with a sender, so already matched, just need to drill a hole and tap to 1/8NPT
ejparrott
Various makes available....I think mine is Durite, I can't remember. All come with senders, adapter bushes are available, and IIRC there is a spare tapping at the back of the 200 head which is perfect. From my experience, buy one which has an electrical link between sender and gauge, not the type which has a gas filled tube. I've broken several of those.
