CwazyWabbit
Fairly certain Nige posted about getting a set of these a few years back, anyway got an email today saying they're on offer so thought I'd share it here. If you've never bought from Rutlands before they are the sort of company you only buy from when things are on offer .... and there is always something on offer. Anyway they're a shade under £30 for imperial and metric http://www.rutlands.co.uk/sp+woodworking-whats-hot-new-arrivals-whats-new-in-woodworking-thread-checker-combo-set-metric-imperial+dk7026
ejparrott
Yup, I bought a set...ok if you can take a fitting to them, bit of a pig if you need to check a thread in say the top of an engine...trying to rotate the whole damn thing to see if it screws in. Also seem to have got two of the same size for some reason...
FridgeFreezer
Parker (hydraulics etc.) do a very nice little wallet with a mini vernier caliper, thread pitch and angle gauges and a book listing all known threads and how to measure them - I actually got one as a freebie from the local hydraulics shop after one too many visits for "can you identify this and sell me a bit that fits it?" Can't find one online but it's very much like this one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/261945711285 or this one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271861834657
