Nigelw
Looking to fit a light weight luggage rack on the front lower part of the roof, it will also double as mounting for my spot/flood lighting. Can't buy what I want so just gonna suck it up and build it myself. Mounting it is the only quibble, whats best, bolt through the gutter with use of copious amounts of sealant or find/make gutter clamps for it? Ideas? What have you done? Boydie
Clamps, and weld a rod or bar to both (assume two each side) so that the weight is spread over as much of the gutter as possible i.e. from clamp to clamp
honitonhobbit
I would agree with my learned colleague
Nigelw
Ok, will check local motor factors for clamps to either buy or inspire. Is it me or has the price of ally box and tube shot through the roof?
bushwhacker
Have a look at Brownchurch clamps on their roofracks. You might be able to make a smaller version. A bolt through the gutter can work, I've used this method for a half rack for my bridging ladders you just need clearance for doors to open.
