changread
Hi all, Sorry to ask what is probably an obvious question, but what is the black round plastic part with TOP written on it that fits on the inlet pipe and connects to the cam cover on a D2 TD5 and does it require any maintenance? BogMonster
Post a pic but from the description it sounds like the crankcase vent, so no oily fumes escape and kill any ozones (or something)
sierrafery
It's named ''depression controll valve"(LLN100140L) if it's old replace it cos it'd not expensive and even if it works it can get ''tired'' in time then it will cause all kind of trouble, i'm treating it as a medium term service item so i replace it every 30k miles or so just to be on the safe side
changread
Thank you for the info on the valve from a very knowledgeable member, I've now bought a replacement (same no. and genuine Landrover) cant think its ever been changed with a genuine 90k on the clock, so more than happy to replace, Many Thanks.
