ericobrave
What is the correct name for the type of pipe 1/4 od black that is used for the spillage returns from the injectors please?? I need to order a length to replace a couple, it is quite rigid
Puffernutter
I've always called them "leak back" pipes. Not sure if that's correct though! Cheers Peter
ericobrave
Thanks, I was looking to find what the pipe is made of so I can order a couple of metres
Puffernutter
Teh last time I bought some it was from local factors, it was more flexible than the hard plastic, it was push on, there's very little pressure there. Try these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-Defender-Discovery-1-200tdi-300tdi-Leak-Off-Diesel-Fuel-Pipes-X3-/281842702034?hash=item419f2256d2:g:dhcAAOSwAYtWMpNV
ericobrave
Thanks, my 200tdi does not have the ones that run between each injector and then one long pipe but four long ones to a joiner
Ex Member
1/4" nylon tubing. But... It is better to switch to the later design that uses 4 mm hose. The nylon tends to cause the banjos to loosen off from vibration. Just buy a whole new spill rail (they are cheap). It uses different fittings designed for hose and the hose pieces. monkie
Halfords sell a special little kit for this purpose, I used this on my 300Tdi a few years ago and so far it is still on there ok: http://www.halfords.com/workshop-tools/garage-equipment/fuses-electricals-fixings/halfords-diesel-spill-off-pipe?cm_mmc=Google+PLA-_-Garage+Equipment-_-Fuses,+Electricals+&+Fixings-_-187990&_$ja=tsid:60494|cgn:GoogleShopping|kw:187990&istCompanyId=b8708c57-7a02-4cf6-b2c0-dc36b54a327e&istItemId=wiaamaq&istBid=tzxp&_$ja=tsid:35522|cid:344535484|agid:25437357364|tid:aud-80976661069:pla-221240598244|crid:89797547524|nw:g|rnd:7058299206146274336|dvc:c|adp:1o1&gclid=Cj0KEQjw9tW5BRDk29KDnqWu4fMBEiQAKj7spyGUBeDlYJVjD8cZDHwkPpia0DlFVJngfNeqGle-WJMaAnZH8P8HAQ Halfords call it "diesel spill off pipe", I've always known it as leak off or spill rail. Probably one of those things where there are loads of names for the same thing.
ericobrave
Thanks, will get one - I didn't realise there was a later version - I am not surprised as the banjos are always coming loose and I have replaced the copper washers several times over the last 25 years, Thanks again
