Johndude82
Hi all, Just had my project '85 110 MOTed and it passed which is very exciting, but now I need to do some of the less essential jobs that I've had on the list. The 1st of which is fitting some side steps so my other half can get in In order to fit them I need to take out the bulkhead tie bolts which i thought would be easy enough but they seem to be properly stuck in there. I can get them to spin and actually come half way out but not completely and I just wanted to check if there was a special trick to these. Do I need to take the weight of the bulkhead while I undo them perhaps?
Bowie69
Yes, jack the bulkhead up a touch.
Gazzar
And remember to copper slip them before refitting - so when the steps rust away/break off you can replace them easily. G.
Boris113
If it still doesn't give after jacking the bulkhead then try tapping a flat-ended punch through from the other side to knock the bolt through.
Johndude82
Thanks all. Just got them out, they were very tight indeed. Jacking it up definitely helped enough so that they could be punched through. Another small thing off the extensive list at least!
