Quick question about Sikaflex or Tiger seal

Recommended Posts

Hi

I want to seal up the alpine light holes on the 109 camper, rather than rivet a 18g aluminium panel over the hole...

1. Would Sikaflex/tiger seal both fix the panel and make it watertight?

2. Which one is better?

3. I think I should fix the panel from the inside, any reason not to do it this way?

4. Would I need to fix the panel mechanically ie rivets while the glue sets or is it instant grab?

5. I haven't used this stuff before, anything I should know that I can't read on the tube?

Thanks

Mike

I've only used Sikaflex so i can only comment on that - It will hold it and seal it. For a light panel it will hold it in place while it sets. Personally I'd probably use a small dome head screw/bolt at each end in addition to sealant.

It will make it watertight.

I've used Tiger Seal before. It sticks like S**t to a blanket. Very good and will make it waterproof. If in the future you need to seperate the 2 parts the only way will be with a knife.
