Headlining refurb

Recommended Posts

Inspired initially by this thread:

http://forum.landrovernet.com/showthread.php/241142-Defender-Headliner-Refurb!

and then the materials in this one:

i decided to refurb my headlining.

Whilst it was off, i did the body cappings and then got on with the headlining....

firstly, i used these soundproofing pads on the bare roof:

then, i covered it with camping mats that i bought for a couple of pounds in B&Q a couple of years ago:

I didnt take pics of the headlining as i covered it, but i removed the old saggy foam backed liner and brushed the headliner board clean. I then covered it with this stuff:

Its quite a stretchy fabric, so gets into the contours of the headlining well.

Pics of it off of the vehicle would be the same as northmalverns in post 24 here:

I then added a couple more of the original lights to the headlining and put it all back up. I'm fairly pleased with the finish and it makes the cab a more pleasant place to be!
