  1. Next time i think i will spray it with the compressor and a spray gun. Its been a pain in the arse doing it with rattle cans.
  2. Yeah ill post them when its all done. Mine was chawton white. Only problem was hey dont have the paint in the shelf and it was £15 a can for halfords to mix it. A 300ml can doesnt go as far as you would think. Did the roof in landrover java black. As they had it on the shelf.
  3. Well i went for a black roof in the end, altho i didnt buy enough paint so itll stay unfinished untill the shops are open again. Oh well. Seems to be going well so far though.
  4. I looked into doing this my self for when i put my canvas top on in the summer, but in my opinion was a better idea just to fit a normal fold down tailgate. so i bought a cheap knackered one off ebay, did it up and fitted that. Much easier.
  5. NFU are great. Always have been for me. My insurance never seems to change when ever i make a mod to the 90 they just like to know what you are changing. Altho i do agree 18 is pretty young in my opinion to be insuring a defender. Ur lucky u got a reasonable quote in the first place. I remeber insuring a single cab mk 4 hilux when i was 20 and it cost me £4000 with one claim. Good luck though. Try NFU.
  6. Evening all, so i am in the middle of converting my defender to a truck cab, the body is white already but the truck cab is green, i have primered all the bits to be painted obv the cab its self will be white, but..... Here comes the big decision. do i do the roof black or do i do it white to match the rest of the landy. What are peoples thoughts. All welcome. Or a different colour entirely. Just the roof though. Cheers.
  7. Mine was doing the same thing, my turbo actuator rod ( think thats spelled correctly) was sticking and my MAP sensor was all gunked up. Got those 2 things sorted, EGR removed, Power chip installed and then re-mapped and now will quite happily do 75-80 on the motorway. Even with a 3 inch lift and 35 inch tyres. Hope that helps. Oh also had the center box and cat removed on the exhaust. Next will be to change the MAF sensor as i hear these can wear out.
  8. I got the devon 4x4 kit, well made and went on easy. Good luck.
  9. Cool. Cheers all, think ill be giving them a call. Next thing is to decide what colour to go for now. Haha
  10. What do you do when it comes to doing the doors? In terms of removing pannels and glass?
  11. Yeah thats wht i thought. And £102 for tree sliders seems cheap. I do t think i could get them made and powdercoated from my local fabricator for as little cash as that.
  12. Hey all, anyone used these guys for any landy parts? They seem very well priced. Would be intereted in how well they fit and general quality. I have been looking at their tree/rock slider sills. http://www.rock-sliders.co.uk/index.html
  13. Evening all, i have had a set of ally body sliders (box section type with holes in them) that have been sat in my lockup for about 8 months. i finally have so time off work this weekend and have decided to fit them, problem is they dont cone with any guide to fitting them. Anyone here fitted these and can give me so advice. They dont cone with bolts any idea where i should be drilling? Cheers allfor any help. Pictures will follow once fitted. ( first pictures of my truck on this site )
  14. Haha, I'd rather not parrott it was ok doing my own but a bit time consuming, I'm a landscaper by trade so metal sheet work isn't rele my thing, I took it to a fabricator first off who quoted me £200 to repair it.
  15. Hi, the steel liner is fine and i have the center rib. Its just a panel at the bottom of the gate that was so damages that it split in half, i beat all the dents on the rest of the tailgate my self so its just this bit left, looks like i will have to make a new bit, id rater not buy a tailgate as this one was free with the truckcab. Cheers for your help.
  16. Evening all, so, my drop down tailgate on my 90 is ****ed, looks like it's been run over, anyways, I have straightened most of it out had some bits welded on it replaced the dented center rib. But I still need one more part, I will try and make it out of a piece of ally but would be nice if I could just buy the part. Anyone know if you can buy separate parts of the tailgate panels. Cheers. Dave.
  17. Still thinking about getting some. But need to sort a few other things first.
  18. Not wanting to do heavy off roading. Just road work. A bit of green laning and towing through fields for work. Like the look but not the mach 5 price.
  19. Anyone have a set if these. Look very similar to mach5's and zu's but a fair bit cheaper. Let me know ur experiences if you have any. All info would be great. Cheers.
  20. Even more reason to get them then. She struggles as it is. Haha
  21. They would be cobra lemans sports seats on offer. Just as a daily driver and green laner, I am 5ft 10 yes it's a fixed bulkhead as it's a 90 truckcab
  22. Evening all, just finished truck cabbing the 90 and next is to renew the seats. Have been offered some bucket seats cheap. Any one have bucket seats fitted to theirs? Pros and cons would be nice. Cheers.
  23. Hi all, any ideas if you can get diffent seats to go in a 90 truck cab that will make it more comfortable. Give it a bit more room in there.
