Tried that but still no see different, seems like the Belt has Shrunk, wonder if it's got anything to do with getting Diesel on it

OK Mate will give that a go tomorrow, been on a sold 2 hours trying before 🤐 Ill get the bloody thing on tomorrow, then if its still the same, its Got to be something to do with Pump.

3 Bolts are slack Mate, shall I take the Whole Tensioner off, Then put belt on ?

Right aint done nothing yet, as waiting for Dial Gauge to come. Got the Correct Timing Pins both in and Marks lined up. thought Id give it one last try, But can I Fu!!k get the belt to go back on, Really Tight, what have I done wrong now.

Just ordered DTI Gauge, so will have a go

He said he didn't touch the Timing when he changed seal, supposed to be Specialist but has not got facilities to bench test or test with Gauge, so gonna have a look myself and order Digital Gauge, If the pump has been knackered along the way just have to get another.

Still not got this sorted. Gonna try over the weekend. Got one of these, I know it can be used as a puller for the front crankshaft, wonder if it will pull front off Pump ?

must have done something as it was Running Sweet as a Nut as they say, before I took pump to him. Don't you think he should know all this, or is it an easy mistake to make ??

Done as above and got everything lined up this time, 2 turns by hand and all still lined up. Started it up again and still the same Really bad running and Smoke. Took couple of Vids will post them later.

Its a Disco 300tdi, not sure what year though.

OK Only seen one not sure if it was the wide or Narrow, better check that tomorrow.

Just had another look, on the flywheel underneath is there a slot that lines up.?Front pin and flywheel lined up, rotated twice Front pin goes back in but flywheel slot cant be seen,Please forgive me if that does not make Sense

Not sure is there a Lock bolt on Pump ?

Disaster. We refitted Pump set Timing up as before when we originally changed belt and pulleys, it starts with a bit if a struggle, but chucking loads of Black smoke / Fumes. won't idle Just cut's out. It's like it could be Over fuleing. What have we done wrong ?

I know Mate, Just trying to save a bit, sick of spending now, hard times anyway. but you are right, my local Landy shop should have one in tomorrow. Another thing I meant to ask, I didn't get the Tool to refit, what size Bolt or Drill Bit is used as the Pin when setting it up ?

Doesn't look to bad in there, Belt was a little wet but has dried out completely now, Gonna spray brake cleaner or something and clean everywhere before putting back together. Pump is at Diesel place to get seal, hopefully ready to pick up tomorrow. Only Diesel No sign of any Oil Leaks.

Change of Plan, not going for the Tool as wont get it till next week sometime, Mates gonna take cover and belt off to get at it properly, so that way can Check Belt and anything else in there, Called in to Local Diesel Specialist today and he is going to put the Seal in for me if I take Pump to him.

Wasn't sure to take a chance on the Belt, It was just fitted new couple of months ago with pully and oil seal also new water pump, Has not been ran much since then, maybe 6 or 7 times Idling, and no more then 10 minuets
