    I'll have a look on eBay for a rag bundle and one of those big blue roles of paper towel.

  2. I've never actually bought any rags - but all those that have made their way to me have been used up ..... So I wondered where everyone gets theirs ?

    Do you buy bundles ? Cheap sheets ? Any suggestions folks ?

  3. This was asked once before and the response that stuck in my mind was 'how does a spring know which way around it is ?'

    So when I fitted progressive springs to the back of mine I made a point of putting them in how it best suited the spring retainer ..... But also explaining to then which way was up ;)

  4. I've managed to pick up a 2nd hand Safari Snorkel - SS575HF. It is though missing the internal pipework.

    It's the one that has the integrated pipe that passes though the wing, rather than seals against the wing.

    It used to be sold for td5's but is now only sold to fit a 300tdi.

    My question is - would it be a disaster to swap out all the standard inlet pipe work and run a single pipe (flexi rubber with a metal core) straight to the airbox ?

    Positives are that it would mean only 2 joins instead of the 6 in the standard set up - it would also maintain a larger diameter of 75mm to the box, instead of being reduced to 60 mm.

    The negative is that it would mean losing the water trap in the standard pipework. I know the intake cowl on the snorkel states it can shed water - thought I don't know how effective that is nor how much of an issue it is ?

    Any help greatly appreciated.

  5. On a 200 the factory setting is 12 psi, 14.5 is a pretty safe bet for a tad more oooooomph and a 300 should be 16psi from the factory and isnt worth turning up imho.

    Excuse my ignorance - but does this mean that if a 300 turbo is fitted to a 200tdi it should have the boost adjusted down ?
