He's trying to avoid the paypal fees isn't he..... Perhaps more cheeky than dodgy ?
That said you want to be sure you don't exclude yourself from papypal / eBay protection and I think to send as a gift you have to do it outside of the eBay buying process ....
What parts do you need ? Might someone in here have them ?

I'm taking a 2.25 out of mine and going the 200tdi route - only because I can't afford to use it as I want without the better mpg.
-
Yes - I see it now too. A real optibubble illusion.
-
Bill, that is a bit of an optical illusion caused by the fresh paint. The chassis mounted drive splitter is actually the axle mounted drive splitter. If you look really carefully it's not chassis mounted but bolted to the axle.
Really ?
I've zoomed in and it still looks bolted to the crossmember to me ?! Are my eyes going ?
-
That's a nice simple solution.
-
Oops - where's my smilie faces gone ?
My post above was meant to be a light hearted response to saying you'll only be around long enough to do another dozen bushes ...... My meaning was that I hope you get to be around for a lot lot longer than that.
I hope it doesn't read badly !

Thanks everyone for the other suggestions. What I'm cautious of is that I already have an awful lot to do to get the series back on the road and I don't want to keep adding more and more to my list of jobs.....
One thing about the 80 is that it's the original Meccano model and a lot of jobs are easier on it because they are so simple to tear down.

Daan - thank you for the link and sharing your experience, I hadn't seen it. In fact I'd just built an online order with the ERR2532G seal in it.
How is the rubber all makes one doing ?
-
Surely you have a better prognosis than that ? At least a couple of cam belts ?
-
Could you rule out a starter drain by trying to bump start it ?
-
You're not wrong - beautiful welding
-
Thanks for the reply Dan.
I am. I've been involved with my friend putting one in his and it's gone in really well.
Only complaint on his was the vibration - so I'm going to weld S3 engine mounts in to improve on that.

I presume hawkeye isn't reading any other faults ?
-
Sorry for asking the daft question - always worth asking though ...
-
It's not immobilised is it ?

I have a 200 tdi that I'll be putting in my series shortly* - it's a Turner engine that had done 10k miles since being bought from them before it came to me ..... I've had it in storage for 4 years and I'm wondering wether to just put it in or start replacing seals etc before I do .... ?
It's not a big job to pull it in and out of the series so I'm tempted to just get it in, but I have a feeling that the voice of reason (that's you folks) will be saying not to ?
* figuratively speaking

On my phone I can't make head nor tail out of that picture ?
-
I will have another look.
Dare I say it ..... I haven't needed to look too closely there.
Though I do clean it out.
-
I don't think my Td5 has anything ? There doesn't even seem to be much paint in there ?
-
Amazing ! And well done.
How big a hole did you drill to be able to get to the bolts ? I'm presuming fairly large unless your day job is micro surgeon ...
-
I now feel thoroughly disorganised ......
Who knew you lot were so organised ??
-
Have you abandoned the window idea ? Natural light is well worth getting in if you can ....
If you fancy trying something a bit different :

I love creosote
