  1. Got to hand it to you Brendan that sounds like a top idea, its certainly worth some further investigation. Tim
  2. I dont think defending the theft of software obviously condoned is irrevalant to be honest, however you might be right in wanting to hide the content of this just incase someone working for MM see`s whats being done on here.
  3. Oh I see, so you download a illegal pirate copy of a piece of expensive software, use it: find out that its good and well worth the money, dispose of the illegal version, then go out and buy a legitimate copy ????? pull the other one.
  4. Exactly my point you was waiting for the ok to do so, I saved my £`s for a while as i beleived it to be a worthwhile purchase, i did`nt steal it nor is any of my software stolen let alone "most of it". I just find it amuzing that all on here go ballistic when a scumbag attcks one of our own, but some ! quite openly offer the theft of software in this way; unbelievable. Tim
  5. Or do the honest thing and buy it like I did, copies are easy to get but how are companies supposed to survive if we keep nicking products off them, because that is what you are suggesting me thinks !! I see a lot of posts on here going on about scumbags thats nick our motors, break into our garages and nick our tools and we all want to hang em But its ok for you to condone the theft of a product from a company that has given us a very good and usefull product !!! Shame on you. Step in please mods Tim
  6. I`ll make sure there`s plenty of shandy for you to drink Tim
  7. Its well worth a look and as you are only in Cov its just up the Rd, as is for me think of Sooty coming down from Scotland now thats dedication, fair play mate, see you there. Tim
  8. I have two pair of these http://www.northerntooluk.com/products.asp?partno=1470E pricey but when you`re under the motor working away its nice to feel safe and they are rock solid Tim
  9. Now I know before I write this I will get some hate mail But I did buy a number of items from scorpion an found them to be very helpfull on the phone, the deliveries turned up on time, with the correct stuff inside. I did buy a couple of exide gel battery`s; one after ten months hard use failed and they made arrangements for me to collect a replacement from a dealer close to me, then they made good with the dealer which I thought was exceptional service. Then to top it all I had a feature on my Bobtail jakey in Performance car mag, the author mentioned Scorpion as one of the suppliers, A week after publication I received a box of goodies from Scorpion and it had nice usefull stuff in it too, I nor the author had told them, they just read the artical and decided to thank me. So fairs fair !!! credit where its due It took me a week of screaming and shouting at M&M to get a refund on a mistake they made, on what seems to be a regular thing with them, being accused of trying it on. Tim
  10. They don`t sell to public I`m sure his sister Deb runs Trekkers, which is now situated in Redditch. Very good service nice and helpfull. Tim
  11. I have`nt used them for 12 months due to a very time consuming and costly nightmare with a winch and front rad arms. So saturday just gone I had to travel over that way, so I called them at 09:15 am to see if they had the stub axles and bearings i wanted, a nameless chap answerd the phone and I asked about the stub axles, he answered "what are stub axles ? what do they look like" I tried to explain but was getting nowhere fast. I asked if I could speak to someone who would understand my request, I was told "everyone else is busy" I asked if he could get some to call me back, "yes no problem" he said and promptly put the phone down without taking my name or number Oh well went to Craddocks great service as usual Tim
  12. Oh I agree the TDV6 is a much nicer engine than the td6, its worlds apart, however for long trips and doing 40k a year if the budget stands it I would go for the Sport, its more powerful and a lot more refined IMO. Tim
  13. It is sluggish in its original form however it is a BMW engine the same one they put in an X5 except in the X5 it puts out about 225 bhp quite nippy, so when the boffins at Solihull put it in the RRV which I might add weighs about the same as a semi detached house, they limited the power down to a measley 178 bhp (clever) it is a very easy affair to chip it back up to where the guys at BMW run it: 225 bhp, then it drives quite nice and gives better mpg. Tim
  14. Well I had a RR sport tdv6 and it was superb, the most comfortable RR yet, I drove several times from birmingham to central Switzerland 16hrs hours at the wheel in all weathers and I can honestly say I could have turned round and driven straight back home. I towed on a regular basis with my 20 ft trailer with my offroad RR classic on the back. On many occasions i forgot it was there and found myself chugging down the motorway at 70-80 mph. I did have my ecu remapped by JE Engineering which gave me more power and better MPG. I never had an issue with the car and would still have it today if they had`nt bought out the sport TDV8 which is what I have now, and if your budget stretches to it then get that one its absolutely awesome. Good luck Tim
  15. Its just that easy I took the old runners off my standard seats and screwed them to the base of my buckets easy as Tim
  16. Thanks for the reply, When I started off roading some three years ago I bought a beast of toy that had a sweet v8 and 40" dumper tyres on it, I ragged that motor everywhere I went and believe me it went anywhere, the drivetrain was standard 10 spline on the front and an old salibury on the back. In 18 months of learning to offroad and ragging it I broke one front halfshaft. I am now running a 300 tdi 90" truck cab, it has 35" simex 24 spl axles with an arb locker, I do like a challenge yes but I`m not just a foot to the floor and see what happens bloke, but since owning this motor ive bust 3 crown wheels and about 4 halfshafts. I suppose you can call them all driver error as its me at the wheel. I had just been told by so many that the simex grip so well thats why i`m busting stuff ? I have taken on hills and flown up them no trouble due to the grip of the tyre, but then I watch my friends take on the same hill, they eventually get up the same hill but with a lot of wheel spin and effort, but they make it. I was tryiny to find feedback from other users of simex to see if they had the same problem, "can you use 35"simex with standard axles with no trouble" or do I get a good mud tyre or toughen up the CV`s and shafts. The reason for the original question was BFG do a 35 x 15 mud but not a 35 x16 I wanted to know what size 16" tyre people were buying, however I have now increased the profits at Ashcrofts and bought the CV`s and shafts, so we`ll see what happens now. but thanks for all your inputs. Tim
  17. So if your right I am better off keeping my 35" simex tyres, keeping all the standard CV`s and drive shafts ? then spend my hard earned money on driving lessons so that I can overcome my desire to challenge me and my vehicle . See I was asking a legitimate question I thought: if i keep the simex I need to strengthen the drive train ? or get rid of the simex and get maybe BFG muds so giving a little bit of give at the wheels ? I bow down to your overwhelming knowledge and will go away to contemplate my stupidity Thanks Tim
  18. Hi QT do a nice steering whell boss and a nice steering wheel, i ended buying the boss from QT and a steering wheel off Devon, if you can find one on either of them try demon tweeks. Tim
  19. Well maybe you could be if you just tried that little bit harder
  20. I have heard today that it has closed ? been closed ? trying to find info ? web site seems to be down ? anyone heard anything ? Tim
  21. Swap: No !! decided to go the other way so ive invested in some Ashcroft shafts and CV`s and a 4:75 diff and lockers now I can keep the Simex we`ll se what breaks next. Tim
  22. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/5mtr-x-5mm-OD-NYLON-...A1%7C240%3A1318 Just found this on ebay thought it might be of use Tim
  23. I am currently running simex 16" x 35" extreme treckers and was looking around to change them as i`ve bust so many diffs and half shafts i`m getting fed up of changing them. Also the road noise is a pain. I was looking at my opyions on Devon`s site, I was wanting to get get 35" BFG muds but they only do them in 15" as ive already got my mach 5`s i wanted to keep them. can anyone tell me what the metric equillivant of a 35" X 16" is or what a good alternative tyre would be ? Tim
