  1. Well, replaced the SLABS ECU but the problem still exist. I have noticed that when I have run it with this TC problem 3 of the 4 brake discs are hot. The rear off side disc is cold, so the brake is not being applied to this. Other than this it's back to sq 1. I've now lost the will to live and thinking of buying a BMW.......
  2. I tried to view it with a small mirror, looks like SRD 000150 (could be wrong as I was reading it backwards)
  3. My car is 2003 whould it's SLABS be fairly upto date. also I have changed both front hubs so it rules them out. I will now try some of your other suggestions thanks to CipX2. Cheers Mark
  4. I have just replaced my rear diff. Removed both halfshaft, unbolted the propshaft then removed the 10 bolts on the dif housing. I used a small trolly jack to lower the diff to the floor. I replaced it with a secondhand one. All done in a day. (Took that long, due to drinking loads of tea) Not sure about running it as it is. Probably depends on how far you have to travel to work? Mark
  5. Gents thanks for all your help so far. I am stuck now as I'm working tomorrow 7am to 7pm, same for Thurs. If I get chance in the evening I will try your advice. If not I'm off on Fri will do it then. Thanks again I really do appriecate it. Cheers. Mark. Watch this space.....
  6. Because of the original problem I can't drive anywhere. TC won't let me.
  7. The're both set at 1.7 kmh. My nanocom won't connect to the ECU when the engine is runing. Only on the 2nd posn of the key.
  8. Nanocom is firmware 2.05. I tried what you said, this time only the TC light came on. Applying the brakes until the vehicle stalled. I couldn't get the ABS light to come on again.
  9. I have checked for play in the wheel bearings but can’t feel any. The answer to the questions are; 1. It’s a 2003 with TD5 & manual transmission. 2. I was towed off the hill and then recovered by the RAC. 3. The problem occurs from standing still 1st gear, can’t get beyond 1st.It feels like its happening on the front left wheel. 4. The TC light comes on first then the ABS. After 10 metres the ABS stays on. 5. TC kicks in right away within 2 metres, as I move off. I have removed the ABS fuse and the car drives ok. I thinks thats everything. Cheers and thank you.
  10. Hi Richard, Thanks for your reply. The TC is controlled by the ABS sensors. I have disconnected both front sensors and I have normal drive. I am guessing that if it was a faulty sensor the NANOCOM would register it? I will strip out the sensor today and clean the matting face of it. Possibly I caused some damage to the sensor ring in the hub when I was trying to climb the step in Wales? This is inside a sealed hub. Before I splash out on a new hub (approx £200) It would be nice to know for sure. Thanks again..
  11. My problem is when I try to move off from stand still the traction control on the front left side kicks in. This is on the flat road. In North Wales last week I had problems getting up a set of steps this resulted in me smashing the planet gears in the rear diff. Another diff now fitted and working fine. I went to take it for a test run now I have this other problem. I checked for faults on NANOCOM but it was clear. Any Ideas as to what is causing this?
  12. Cheers John, I've got a complete diff in the shed. Knowing these are prone to failier I got it of fleebay last year. Thank anyway mate. Hope you enjoyed the rest of the weekend. Mark
  13. Well managed to brake the D2 on Sat. Thanks to Paul Humphreys and Turbocharger for recovery and advice. Got back home at about 9pm thanks to the RAC. I managed to smash the planet gears in the rear diff. Sripped the rear diff today here is a pic of the gears. Other than this had a brillient day on Sat cheers fellas. Take Care, Mark
  14. I use Memory Map on a PDA mainly. I sometimes use a Garmin GPS and notebook computer + Memory Map. The best feture is you can record your route then transfer it to a desktop system. You will then always have it if you do the route again.
  15. It's Newark for me. Which ever show you end up at enjoy........
  16. I followed this procedure from this link. It was strightforward and easy to follow. The system itself, is self priming. http://www.discovery2.co.uk/fuel_filter.html
  17. I am looking at this set up http://www.discovery2.co.uk/winch.html I have the plate but my Britpart winch doesn't line up correctly on the bace plate. If your winch fits the plate this must be the easier and simpler route to go?
  18. I use memory map all the time when greenlaning. I use a PDA with bluetooth GPS. It records all the routes which I can then transfer to my desktop PC and save them. Like someone has mentioned, you can also share them or transfer them to a paper map. You can also print sections of the maps and build yourself a portfolio. An all-round great bit of kit.
  19. Turbocharger, I didn’t get chance to say farewell to your Mum & Dad, Please pass on my regards and thank them and yourself for your hospitality. I enjoyed the field so much I’m looking at squatting there and bringing the extended family, total of 12 tents.
  20. Glad to hear you all got back safe, driving conditions on the way back were difficult to say the least. It was great to meet you all, I had an absolute ball, even though I camped, it wasn't that cold, honest I really enjoyed myself. Now to clean my kit from the weekend!!!!
