I've been wondering about this for a while, so hoping some one cna put me out of my misery.
How do they fix down? From what i gather, they are bolted to the tub via a few thin metal straps from a big aluminium channel on the rear. but surely theres more to it to prevent drumming at higher speeds?
Does the front clamp similar to a rag top? Im guessing they are interchangeable.
Cheers
Chris

Only thing i would add, i believe wolf roofs are glued together, my all wheel trim ripstop roof is stiched with cotton thread, consequently the thread has now rotted, and the panels ( which in them selves are fine) are comming apart every time i take the roof off when the sun decides to comes out. Nearly all military vehicles, Hummers g-wagons etc all have glued roofs as far as i can tell.

Guys,
Looking at the devon 4x4 site it says the d2 damper relocation bracket (that goes one the drag link) is for use with an eye pin defender style damper.
Does any one know if the stock d2 damper has the same size bolt,
Also with the bracket clamp up to a standard thickness rod or only for use with heavy duty rods?
I did email them at the beginning of the week, but of yet no reply.
Heres a link to the said item:
Thanks in advance

Ibex are designed to take any land rover gearbox/engine combination you want. Mine was set up to be td5/r380 so I figured short stick lt77/200tdi would sit in roughly the same position. Mine also has bolt on engine mounts so that allows me to fiddle the position to keep as much standard as possible.

I only ask, as after seeing a few f8 build pics, the tunnel seems to only permit a defender style gear leaver infront of the seat box.
Looks great, would love to give fiberglassing ago. I presume it gives better sound insulation over stock landrover ali tunnel design?
Ever done a surfboard lol?

Looking good Mike
Are short stick boxes usually used in ibexs?

29" at the highest point, dropping to 28" at either side..
The sides slope in by 2 inches from the outside edge.
There is a 6 inch straight above the capping before the sides slope in.
The bends are 6" radius.

Think the problem is not many people have canvased hicaps here, mainly truck cabs.
Saying that, i beleive they are the same height as a nomal canvas hoop, just a tad wider, therefore i can measure one of them for you when i get a spare moment from the kids.

Just to add, 101 flat spring suffer horrifically with wrap if abused, a lot of them came out the army with them s-shape.

Guys im after a dimension on a soft top 90, so i can make a comparison to the series.
Does any one know the centre to centre distance between the front hood stick(that holds the door surround pieces), and the one immediately behind for a 3/4 hood?
Heres a pic that i stole off the interweb:

Did have time, and ended up using it, fortunately it was on a section i plan replacing at some point. They did seem to operate under two names at one point.
Distortion was fairly mild, i only noticed on mine as i tried to blend out the welds on the side pipes for a invisible joint.

Looks great. can't wait to see this thing moving
I had a similar experience with mij... Brought a flex joint that was stated as being all stainless ( the only reason i brought from them).. and parts of it were mild steel. you will probably be able to identify the 316 once you do a few long runs as they will turn a slightly yellow.
Did you have any problems with distortion, i found stainless a bit of a night mare.

You may already be a aware of it, but try looking at a 101fc gear leaver setup, can't beat it for simplicity.

I think i get it,
Looks great, i couldn't work out how you did it so neatly with out welding.
Are you using anything to seal the panels together?
-
Mike, Super.
Gotta ask, how did you make the gutter on the new roof?
-
Nice! want one!
How are you planning on locking it off, catch, pin?

light weight is different to s2/s3 and consequently defender

Not exactly radical, but I'd quite like to see a X-lite housing that can be welded/bolted into a bumper (after attacking it with a hole saw).

Different number plate there ...
Private plate?
the two are identical... even down to the position of the trailer socket/ free wheel hubs.

Video isn't as great as i remember...Looks liek its at billing.

There was a video of it on youtube, unfortunately i can't access it at work.

Pointing out the obvious... Series landrovers have check straps on the rear.

So its not a quick removal then. lol.
No i havent brought anything. i was jsut wondering about the possiblity of a quickly removable grp roof as an alternative to softop. Say held on with some quick fists to the cage and over centre catches.
