Thanks guys, it will also be used whilst being away camping and vacing sand and grass out as my metal detectors and stuff go in the back of the landy and grass gets everywhere in the roof tent 🙂

Hi guys
Can anyone recomend a decent corded or rechargable vacuum cleaner to use in the back of the landy ( overlander ) and roof tent please to save me lugging the garage one up and down the ladders ☹️

Don’t leave it open - it’ll be sucking in dust to the crank case as well as causing the engine to breathe heavily.
I've sealed it now but going to to Cornwall in it next month so i was going to give it a service anyway before i go.

As I understand it, the vacuum pump is trying to pull air from the servo chamber and discharge it where? I think into the crankcase.
Thus if the pipe to the servo chamber is left open, the pump will do its best to pump all the air under the bonnet into the crankcase. While there is a limit as to what the pump can achieve, the crankcase could be 'pressurised', or at least have a larger than normal flow through it, possibly becoming visible by oil mist around any crankcase breathers.
Regards.
Cheer's i've blanked it off now but not tested it yet, will i notice anything when i do 🙂

Hi guys
Does it matter if the vacuum pump is blocked off or left open if not running a servo 🙂

Hi guys
Well as you know i have recently fitted a roof tent and boarded all the back out on my 1970 S2a 88" and slowly fitting things in to make the 2a as an overlander / camper, anyway we recently did the recent billing show and the landy was sagging on the back end with all the gear in the back mainly food and beer for 3 of us camping inc 2 tents and my roof tent and the back being boarded out and the other to's camping gear, 3 leaf GME paras on the back and 2 leaf GME paras on the front i don't have a problem with the fronts but do with the rears so i got thinking as some vehicles have coil springs on the front and multileaf springs on the back i though is it ok to fit std multileaf springs on the back and parabolics on the front, what do you think 🙂

Hi guys
Just wondered what we are all getting with our tdi conversions as regards mpg, i'm getting 35 mpg with std gearbox and transfer box inc 3.45 diffs and a roamerdrive 🙂
-
Tried it all out at the recent billing show at the weekend and everything was great but think we need an extra battery though ☹️

Back now, yeah the show was ok but thought it would have been better than last year but was just the same really but then its a 4x4 show and not a land rover show but was dominated by land rovers though, hence why we have decided to knock land rover shows on the head now and if we do decide to go to one it will be on a day visit instead ☹️

I didn't know, I suppose the word 'Billing' has a negative association for me, so I haven't paid a lot of attention to events there. For many reasons I can't say that will change any time soon, but I hope you have a safe experience.
Regards.
Cheer's, yeah about 3-4 years Billing Aquadrome got taken over and they said they wasn't doing any shows as they wanted to fill the place with more caravans and log cabins, anyway the first year they did nothing but when the farm did the show the new owners realised what they was missing and for the following year think they tried to do there own show at the same time the farm did thiers and the farm show was the better show and has got better and better over the years and this year is supose to be even better 🙂

When you get to Billing, is this going in the public car park, the private outside camp ground, or on a Stand somewhere?
My main memory of Billing is its reputation as a thieves paradise, of relevance here was the tale of a roof tent equipped Disco being in the public car park, the owners returning to find the vehicle still there, but minus the roof tent (and base frame).
In the light of this you might decide not to answer my question until after you return home.
Regards.
Camping area, incase you don't know the event is now held on the farm at the back of Billing Aquadrome as Billing Aquadrome don't do these avents anymore and this will be our third time camping here but first time with a roof tent and its the farm that run it and all the farming crew are on the camp site during the day 🙂

I've used many different makes of filters over the years and the only one I've had problems with was a Crossland fuel filter on my 19J engine. I've used Fram filters on several of my vehicles without issue
I once had a mk4 2.0 Cortina and did an oil and filter change later that day i went out and rattle the big ends out of it, cause the TJ oil filter i used was leaking badly around the seam so i never used that make of filter again and i haven't heard of them since either ☹️

Hi guys
I've always been lead to believe that Fram filter are one of the best but recently i've heared that they are rubbish, is this true 😟
