  1. on my list of things to do is add the wiper delay to my 1985 V8, the later wiper switch has this feature with one extra wire which needs connecting to the delay circuit, in theory it looks a simple job, in practise its a landrover so could be a challenge, but that delay relay would be okay for the job, I have a couple from RRs I was going to use.
  2. If it is the early long stick I believe it should fit, it was the later short stick that will interfere with the seatbox?
  3. not sure about that, some genuine parts I have got from a UK LR dealer aren't lucas
  4. personally I would rather stretch a truck cab than shorten a hardtop, though shortening a 110 DC roof would be easier, just harder to find. ($$?)
  5. between the Rangie and the 90 you should have almost all you need, only thing you may need is a radiator as the rangie one will be too wide, the diesel one may ? not be suitable.
  6. R 380 is supposed to be the better box. Swapping the levers on an LT77 is a complete strip job and replacing parts. If you think that an LT230 and LT77 is heavy try an LT95 4 speed. ;-)
  7. no problem with the auto, but if you swap to the RRs Borg warner box, you will need the front prop that goes with that. Use the autos mounts and there is a little to be trimmed from the seatbox support. Check the link in my sig if you want to see my 110 auto conversion I am just finishing.
  8. 1. I think the fuel tank mounts are different, body mounts are almost the same, rearmounts go inside the body instead of outside. 2. I dont think you can modify the shifter easily, engine should be okay. 3. I have a disco front, used the 110 calipers on it, I will be converting my rear salisbury to disc. The disco rear may not be strong enough, later 110 have an uprated version of it. 4. B pillars are available, I believe the crossmembers are on back order currently from someone elses post recently.
  9. the v8 defender rad that I needed is on back order, unknown supply date so I had a core made and used the disco header tanks.
  10. better to drive away on run flat tyres than have to run though isnt it
  11. MWC 4757, I just replaced mine, 8 genuine ones cost me 14 GBP from Keith Gotts
  12. you may also find a loud exhaust is costing you torque and fuel
  13. is it a solid sqare pin or a hollow one? if it is solid it shouldnt be there, but the piece the cable goes in is like a square tube, if you check your old box you will see it.
  14. I think he is fitting a disco box with a transducer to his early v8 110 so has all the bits, just the transducer is in the way. The transducer in my disco transfer was held on by an allen bolt.
  15. anyone else heard they can break the spring towers with twin shocks?
