Looking good Stephen!
Will the splines need heat treating/hardening?

What's the date stamp on the Treps?
They get hard after sitting a while...
(Motorcycle background, I have brand new never used 5+ year old tyres on a project bike. They will go in the bin prior to riding the bike...😐)

With my ghetto plating method, you could just dip the machined surface into the solution.
So only the very end of the stud is subject to any witchcraft.
Probably...😁

It's the humidity and proximity to the sea that gets us...
I got a chunk of Zinc from a boat shop, used an old phone charger and some hydrochloric acid.
Puts a light coat of zinc on whatever you dunk in it (overnight)
Plenty YouTube videos showing how to.

Hey Serg,
are you going to electroplate them?
The ends will turn orange real quick!

Was multiple daily updates.
What are you lot all up to (or not)?
My excuse is I had a hip replacement 6 months ago, then overdid things building my new garage...
Doc is not impressed, I need to take it easy or will f**k up my new leg permanently.
Hope you lot are all OK. 🍺

Keep it simple.
Refresh all of the ignition.
New plugs, leads, distributor cap, points, condenser.
Set valve clearances, set timing.
Make sure carburetor is performing properly. (replace if not)
The 2.5 is more than enough for your needs/driving style.

My carburetor was corroded inside.
Cleaned it many times, but it was always giving poor running.
A new carb and it was like a new car.

I had a 2.5 petrol County in the UAE.
It was bad at first.
Then fully serviced, new carburetor, top end de-coke (remove head, clean everything, reassemble with new gaskets etc)
After this it was excellent.
So, I would just do this to your car.
Much cheaper than an engine swap.

What's the purpose of a diode in your trailer wiring?
Stop back feed to the car?
What and why? 🤔

The cut is to create clearance for the uni joint onto the box.

You gain space in the engine bay by moving the steering box to the outside of the chassis.
With this kit.

The obvious solution for Stephen is.....
Just make your own tyres! 🤣🤣🤣

Do you two work together?🤔

It's the first time I've had level concrete to adjust the mower deck!
Normally lives in its own shed!
Going to install a pair of Series tanks under the seat box.
The drivers side one is long range and will need to be chopped to fit in the Defender chassis.

It's cool that your uncle gets to see you enjoy/improve your inheritance!
You can take him mud plugging when it's fixed!

Hey guys, I'm treating myself to a two post lift!
Looking at the 110 chassis on my project, the only flat areas are about a metre apart.
Is this the best area to lift from? (I've chopped the rear end off so virtually no overhang)
May be nose heavy...
Or do I go off the outriggers? (not flat underneath)
Maybe make some wood adaptors to conform with the underside of the outriggers?
I'll obviously wobble test first 100mm off the ground, just wondering what you lot do.

No...
Apparently I over worked my new hip doing the shed...
Surgeon was cranky, said I have to take it very easy for 6 months.
Most of his patients are proper old farts and just watch TV or a fish tank for a year after surgery....
I'm ok ish, just pain every step, and kneeling/bending is s**t. (now more pain than before the operation)
No painkillers (apparently, they are addictive...)
I will get back into it soon, just very aware that I get zero sympathy from wifey if I f**k it up again... (or the doctor...)
Cheers
