Also what about defenders with spare wheel carriers on the bonnets with no wheel on it
A few pics from Bures on sunday
It was very dry and the ground was like concrete
Well after Bures the disco looked like this:
So got steve round to jet wash it and underneath (hence ramps):
And also all sharp edges have rubber caps, and with the height of it, the person i runover would have to be a giant to hit them. Itll be the bumper, spots, steering guard, Big tyres that would get them long before that! Thats why i put them as near to the windscreen as possible...
Tried out the Discos roof rack, handy to have:
My mate gave me a set of ladder brackets, so a plan was hatched:
Welded a nut and washer on the end:
Cut the hook parts off and drilled some holes:
Marked and cut my waffle boards:
Tried them for size:
Welded some plate on to stop them dropping:
Drilled a hole and rivetted them in place to stop them spinning:
Cut down the bar and job done:
And as theyre ladder clamps theyre lockable too
Got the Snorkel off:
And chopped it down an bit (reason will become clear later):
Drilled 3 holes in the underside of the inlet for my breathers to sit in:
Got my bar on and lights on hence shortening the snorkel a touch:
Whilst John got on with the rear arches:
And outside to turn it round:
Cut the other arch down:
And on:
and the other side:
And a blurry complete pic:
Still more to do yet, but thats enough for today. Big thanks to John for his help on the arches. he deserves the credit!
Because we have a set of ten splines in the garage and want to rebuild them off the vehicle, and have the cases powder coated. Saves disabling the vehicle whilst we do it
