  2. With my 110 chassis shortly going off for galvanising, i need to get my suspension ordered and axles ready. Firstly what suspension is recommended? Ive been looking at OME kits at around £600 for shocks and springs. Is this reasonable or is there a cheaper equivalent and/or a better set up for the same money? Ill be wanting a 2in lift and dislocation system. Next are my axles. Ill be selling my salisbury and getting a disc'd salisbury off presumably a TD5???? Ill be looking to put air lockers in front and rear, probably ARB's but open to alternative suggestions. So my question is, what parts will i need to rebuild the axles. Are there kits for this purpose including all the seals and bits i need? Also uprated shafts and bits. What do i look for? This is my first serious build so i need all the info i can get. Its for mainly expedition as opposed to play and pay days, but i want the facilities there just in case, and whilst its apart would make sense. Thank you in advance...

  7. Anyone know where i can get exploded drawings like those in parts catalogues? Im building my defender and want to look for parts myself instead of keep hassling shops. Any ideas?
  8. Frank Pickles! Theyre number is in the back of LRO. £98 fully comp for the year with mods and off road use on a 200TDi disco at 32, and £130 fully comp on a 300TDi disco at 27.

  10. Im looking at engine choices for my defender, and i happen to have a Mercedes Sprinter, with the more powerful engine that i was selling rather cheap, then thought maybe i could break it and use the engine for the defender. Has anyone seen one in a defender before?
  11. Is there a guide to fitting a 300tdi auto into a defender? i looked through but couldnt spot one? Don't think anyone on here has tried that swap yet, you can be the first & write a fitting guide

  15. I shall be converting my Defender to 300TDi Auto and as i dont have the running gear yet im enquiring on engine/gearbox mount positioning. Ideally id like the lot here to mock it up and weld accordingly but its just not possible at the moment and as id like to progress with the chassis some more id like to know if anyone has the measurements/dimensions for where they should go? I remember there being a How2 somewhere but that was wrong according to others that used the information. Can anyone help here? Thanks in advance.....
  16. If youre going to that trouble you may as well replace the whole thing. Youll have more issue making sure its true!
  17. Yeah i just cut mine off but going into the out rigger and not the chassis, and used a flapping disk to remove the welds left on the chassis. Then ill be having them mig'd back on when im ready....

  20. Can you get new bulkheads? (i know you already have a replacement but thought id still ask)
  21. Thats the window mechanism and inner door skin. All got cut out!
