Hi guys well just come back from anglesey had a really great day the weather was hot and sunny we had a pub lunch at the valley hotel in valley then from there we went to treaddur bay then later we went to church bay then drove home the 250 mile round trip in the disco was brill it was our first trip out in the disco since we got it other than the mishap we had last sunday on the way there and the radiator bursting anyway i was really impresed in how comfy the disco was and when we got back i could easily have jumped back in and drove down there again well pleased the only down side to the day was that i forgot my camara but never mind theres always next time. graham ___________________ 03 d2 td5 auto e.s. 97 d1 300 tdi man.

Hi guys never seen a roof rack for a d 2 before just pics, anyway instead of fitting a 4 bike rack on the rear door / spare wheel carrier and putting extra stress on the door hinges would a half ( short ) roof rack carry 2-4 bikes lying down on top of each other without the wheels of the bikes touching the roof or do i need a full length roof rack, don't really want a bike rack on the roof with the bikes stood upside down. graham ____________________ 03 d2 td5 auto e.s. 97 d1 300 tdi man.

yipee we collected the car today and everything seems ok drove it the 35 miles from the garage in baxendon lancs going over the tops to the M66 motorway then to our home in wythenshawe and the temp gauge stayed at normal after reaching temp and the heater was nice and hot so well pleased. graham _________________ 03 d2 td5 auto e.s. 97 d1 300 tdi man.

do you need to have the engine running to check the level of the transmission or can you just go through the gears with the solector and end up in the park position switch off and remove the level plug and top up as req'd. graham ____________________ 03 d2 td5 auto e.s. 97 d1 300 tdi man.

the disco was picked up today by the AA from our home and taken to the dealer we bought it from and they are going to replace the radiator under warranty as the rad has a hole in it so hopefully we will have the car back tomorrow. graham ___________________ 03 d2 td5 auto e.s. 97 d1 300 tdi man.

Hi guys its bad news im afraid we broke down, anyway we set off from manchester to angelsey yesterday but had to stop off at a mates house on the way to see there new born baby then after setting off from there and 15 miles later the car seemed to loose power and noticed the temp gauge was reading between normal and hot but mins before this the temp gauge was reading in the normal position so pulled into a layby and the engine cut out before i could switch it off anyway looked under the car and there was water gushing out under the car so lifted the bonnet and couldn't see anything so removed the cover over the two rads and i could see water under the engine coolant rad so called out the AA who came out had a look at the rad and said the rad was nacked so he put some sealant into the header tank and toped it up with water and ran the engine and after a wile the leak vertually stoped but when trying to bleed the system he found the heater wasn't getting hot and said the impeler had come off the water pump or the thermostat has jamed so we had to be carried home so we are going to call the dealer we bought the car from and see what he says. graham ____________________ 03 d2 td5 auto e.s. 97 d1 300 tdi man.

Hi everyone. i have just bought a disco 2 td5 auto 03 plate, anyway yesterday after picking her up from burnley lancs driving to wythenshawe manchester then having a drive round the transmission temp light flashed up a couple of times it only does it when i sometimes set off from lights or going up inclines i have looked for a transmission dipstick under the bonnet but can't find one is there one and how do i check it please. graham _______________________ 03 plate d 2 td5 auto es. 1997 disco 1 300 tdi.

Hi guys well after looking as 4 cars today we are now the proud owners of an 03 plate td5 auto ES model disco 2 finished in zambezi silver with tundra leather trim with 86000 miles on the clock full of toys so will be asking at some point on how stuff works just been serviced by a land rover dealer in burnley lancs and has had new discs and pads all round and we are expecting to pic it up on thursday so will post some pics when we get it home. graham _____________________ 1997 disco 1 300 tdi. 03 disco 2 es auto td5. yeh i have seen a video on youtube of a disco td5 auto green laning with the video camara filming from the inside now as a past video camara user i know the mic on the camara will pick anything up and you can just hear the engine even when the box was in low so i would think in general the td5s are pretty quiet. graham ____________________ 1997 disco 1 300 tdi.
