also are you running a rad combined with an oil cooler maybe the partition in the rad has come away inside the water in the rad will be contaminated with oil as well. graham.

have you checked the coolant level in the rad also have you tried running the engine with the rad cap off to see if the rad is blowing water out of the radiator that will tell you if the head gasket is blown. graham.

Hi all had a drive to bonefire held by B.A.D.L.R.C. at hartington quarry just outside buxton last night and then drove home and then this morning drove to rochdale with my bro and friends to do some green laning the gearbox is alot better the mpg is better but still not satisfied still in the mid 20s don't no if that is due to the mixed type of driving ( the buxton hills and green laning ) ? graham.

swapped the gearbox over today but not had chance to try it except in the drive so i will give it a run tomorrow and keep you posted on what the differance is. graham.

nop the inside of the roof was dry as it normaly has been i found the leak it is leaking from the seam that goes across over the steering wheel as thoe to speak. graham.

Hi guys went out in the landy today to get a new washing machine reversed out of the drive and then stoped to go forwards and i got coverd in water i was well soaked i am a bit hacked off because last year i fully sealed the roof inside and out and the roof didn't leak in but now it is i now a p.o. must of carried something on the roof at some point as the front of the roof is slightly bellowed so i am thinking of getting another roof but fancy one with alpine windows. graham.

have you tried starting it with the starting handle if the battery is half dead it should still start. graham.

Hi guys went green laning two weekends ago since doing the tdi conversion we had a great time in buxton the tdi ran sweet the gearbox suited the engine well and i hardly had to use low range the only draw back i had was i only got 230 miles on a full tank of juice which works out at 23 mpg so i am looking at swapping the gearbox over to the high ratio one so hopefully the fuel compsumption will be a lot higher ? graham.

Hi sparg sorry i havn't replied to you as for some reason the forum had lost me so i had to rejoin so i am now known as kingdong2 yes the engine went well the gearbox suited the engine i hardely used low box the steepest of inclines where no problem for the tdi in high range the only down side was the engine seams to be drinking juice on a full tank of juice i did 230 miles works out at 23 mpg so i think i need to fit my other gearbox. graham.
