yeh the reason we want a td5 auto is we are buying a caravan in cornwall and want something a bit more comfertable and the missus has a weak left knee and finds the clutch on the our 300tdi a bit heavy also from time to time we want to tow a series on a trailer so want something with the power and comfat. graham ______________________ 1997 disco 1 300 tdi.

Hi guys very soon we will be looking at buying a disco 2 td5 auto as we have just sold my house, but need to ask a queestion about mileage i know when buying most other cars you go for the lowest miles but i know the td5 can be very unreliable at times but can also be very reliable with others aswell and want to no is there a mileage margine to stay away from say no less than 100000 miles or does it not really matter, also i have seen some low mileage ones go for a lot less money than higher mileage ones is there a reson for that? graham ____________________ 1997 disco 1 300 tdi.

Hi guys my mate has decided to go 200 tdi does anyone know if the exhaust conversion kits you see on ebay connect to a std series exhaust or do they connect to a larger bore exhaust its just my mate doesn't want to go the steve parker route as i did with mine as he won't have the funds to cover it aswell as doing the engine conversion and he has just recently replaced his petrol exhaust with a new one. cheers graham ______________________ 1962 2a swb 200 tdi.

well after a lengthy discussion on the powerplus conversion and the di and tdi conversions he has decided on the tdi conversion so looks like in the spring i will be doing another tdi conversion so no dowt i will be on here asking loads of questions on converting a s111 swb to tdi. i know its more or less the same as a s11a tdi conversion but i think there are a few differances with the s111 so when we are ready i will start another thread. anyway once again thanks for all your help. graham ____________________ 1962 2a swb 200 tdi.

ah right now we are getting somewhere so basicly fitting a powerplus kit to a std 2.25 engine is not really worth it without fitting all the other stuff like camshaft h/c head and exhaust.thats what i have been waighting to here. thanks rpr graham ______________________ 1962 2a swb 200 tdi.

i know what you mean tbh i would rather him to go tdi as i have done it myself and i think its a great conversion but for him to use the turbo properly he will also need to get the tdi rad intercooler but anyway i am going to see him in the week so see which way he wants to know. graham _____________________ 1962 2a swb 200 tdi.

i remember a year / 18 months ago i saw an advert in one of the mags the powerplus kits where still £125 but now they are £540. i am going to see him in the week so will try and persuade him to go di or even tdi but the di would be easier and cheeper for him i think if we do go di is there any differance between 200di and 2.25 petrol as regaurds power. graham ______________________ 1962 2a swb 200 tdi.

thats what i was trying to get my mate to do he is half set on fitting a di as he is on a very tight budget and between us we don't have much fabrication skills its the exhaust thats the prob for him as he can't buy a tdi engine parabolic springs + shockers and a steve parker exhaust as i did when i did mine. graham ____________________ 1962 2a swb 200 tdi.
