    Round 4 "sponsored by staffordshire4x4

    where to begine?

    Saterday

Shaun "set up team 1" fired the rear diff out of the set up rangerover :( AGAIN

Setup team 2 decided to jump on a wasps nest, then ran away FAST, but not quite fast enough.

The CoC "me" left some paperwork safe at home  luckily it was replicated by our onsite smartass teckie geek

    Sunday

Round 4 Sponcors turned out to be GENEROUS as well as TOP BLOKES" :D and spent the hole weekend with us :D

Dan sorted out his steering issues by smashing his unbreakable CV JOINT

Pete broke down just insite of his first punch "again" and dispite MR LRS's onsite ecu interigation device, refused to be a td5 again.

Tom J decided that his truck front tyres work better with some air in, but the air was not cooperating :(

Zim unlocked his rear locker "perminantly"

Jakes truck spat out it's coolant

Kim "team 14" actually ran all day :o

Team Sharp ran out of punches to collect

Wayne turned up at the finish on time again :P

Dan H passenger door refused to open so Henry just dived in head first all day :hysterical:

Dangermouse decided to drive up a slope was on the back axle only  but quickly gave up on the idea. :hysterical:

And we found out that EVERYONE was watching the eye catching TEAM GUNIT ;)

    Roll on 4th September,for round 5

  6. i do believe that you used to roll out of bed at one stage, but i am now of the understanding that you dont do that anymore, you gyrate out instead.

maybe if you got scored on rolling instead of getting punches you would actually win something, infact i reckon you would be unbeatable.

just a quick pointer to help you out though mr chris " gyrater" booth, fit + 3 inch springs to the driverside to level the car out, maybe you wouldnt spend so much time rolling then as it is always your side down first isnt it ?

please twiggy, no more p****** about this time getting on and off the trailer, my sides cant take another episode like that again.

FML  Children, children :P I do hope that if the SS we bave planned runs then you to don't end up running together ;) I don't think my sides could stand the BICKERING :hysterical::P

  7. nearly put mine onto its side today when setting the shocks up, deffo more body roll with the airshox

or maybe i was just going to fast when i locked it over.

ill be staying on all 4 wheels all day thank you :-)

Depends who turns up on site first! Boothy got further to travel

Bet dans roll is MORE SPECTACULAR :P

  9. I guess the answer to that lies in which events may form part of the league

    MSA

    AWDC

    BADLRC

    LRS Series

    Whitbread

    Muddy Truckers

    SWCC

    Non-MSA

    Mud Monsters

    CSW

    4x4 Adventures

    Mission 4x4

    De-Cider

Feel free to add any I may have missed off

I would be also looking at the above events results to try and get a picture of the numbers of teams involved. I know some teams will appear in more than one series but not many i suspect

  10. Hi guys i am going to cut the crossmember off as its a bit rusty. my other reason is because i have whacked it pretty hard a few times now and want to do a small bobtail off it by removing about 3 inchs.

has anyone done this? any tips / advice?

it looks pretty easy as i have a side exit exhaust and only removing 3inches means there are no body mountings to re do..

my plan is to literally cut it off and then drill the rivets on the rear tub cut 3inches off everything and re weld it back on / re rivet... do you think it will be this easy?

(mine is a soft top truck cab) - not a fan of tray backs

    thanks in advance

oh there was a guy on here selling home made crossmember if he reads this ill buy it.

Shortened a series 2 by 4" years ago, its easy, just trim, and join! only thing that isnt straightforward may be the sweep in the chassis, and the SVA issues?

crossmembers are easy MIB, S&W, devon, with winch or without!

  11. I think I know who you mean, if it's the man I think was at rd2 LRS. He lives just out side newport in a sort of caravan site behind a old garage before you get to hinstock. I don't know him just see him around, you carn't really miss his 90 !

    Jon

Not LRS eather  , know who u mean though! he just sort of appears :angry2: .

  12. Some random thoughts

MSA only recognise 2 classes, of challenge trucks. So what about trucks that thay don't recognise ie non msa speck cages.

Mot shouldn.t matter, just set some sensable class's based on vehicle ability.

Event organisers run there events to cater for there competitors, and are unlikly to want to change there format.

Competitors arn't all going to want to enter a national, so entry should be optional, ie u need to qualify in some way?

These Challenge trucks are usually peoples pride and joy, the bying it for a few quid idea "alough i actually quite like the idea in principle" would actually put people off.

Why make money out of it??. Surly pride should be enough motivation for all concerned !?.

The idea of qualifying locally is good, as events that involve travel seem to be unattended "xl".

    Ps

This seeMs to be the most productive thread yet on events here EVER. :i-m_so_happy:
