I was checking the voltage the alt was putting out tonight on a disco 200 tdi engine 5 mins after start-up it was still putting out 17.4volts at the battery idle or reving which sounds high to me what do you guys think. Nick.

Mmmm for some reason its not fitted to the Disco I have bought, I would have seen it if it were your is. Nick.

I bought a 93 disco 200tdi for the engine going to fit it in my S3, I notice the engine has a lifting eye near the front of the engine but I cannot see one at the rear, so whats the normal lifting postion on the rear of the engine. Nick.

I got a 1 ton sealey of ebay £130 (new) inc P/P, lifted my 2.25d of it longest reach but had to take the bumper off to get the hook far enough back over the engine. Nick.

I have one and over the years it not been that good, but I fitted a new wire welding wire linner of the metal kind as opposed to the pvc type, (less friction on the wire) and it seems to have transformed the SIP 130, read more on the link about wire linners, at the same time I improved the heavy wire were it starts its way up the tube to the torch, Just welded 2 new dumb irons on with mine and am very happy with the quality of the welds http://www.mig-welding.co.uk/ Nick.

Fitting a 200 tdi to my S3 and would like to fit a new timing belt, is it a diy job bearing in mind special tool and what special tools do I need. Nick.

I was in Aldi the other day and they are selling welding stuff pack of mole type clamps £6.00, and duel gas/gassless £139. Nick.

Hi guys I have bought a 93 200tdi disco to do an engine transplant into my S3 2.25d 88", I am going to remove the turbo from the 200tdi before I fit it to be kinder to my transmission and fit it as a 200di, Just wondering if any of you guys have carried out this conversion on a series motor and could tell me what bit and bobs I need to keep of the old disco before I take it to the crusher, Is there much electrical gadgetry on the 200tdi disco ecu ect that I may need, Any info re-engine mounts would very handy as well guys.
