  1. I think I may lamp in a different way to you, I have someone aiming a spot lamp, and and then use a rifle or two. Usually rabbits and foxes at night. The land I shoot over is quite varied and has a number of stream / small river crossings. Generally the extra height is a bonus.

ahh ok i dont lamp i just thought it involved dazzleling with headlights then driving into them

  2. Hi

i am thinking atm that i need to fit some better springs to my Pick up 90 as it leans very far forward as has not much weight at the back end (although this is ok when towing laiden car trailers and the like)

MY question is what type do i need Light, Medium or Heavy Duty? or even Different front to back I.E HD Front, Medium Back etc?

I have winch and bumper on the front, Pick up rear so not much weight but sometimes have an ifor williams back on with lots of gear in it.

Also does anybody know how long (top to Bottom) Standard spings are so i can try and find out if my truck currently has standard size springs on or lifted springs (last owner)

would probly get terrafirma +2" when i buy new anyway

Just wondering if anyone had come up with any solutions for replacing the pant dials in older defenders, I've seen the td5 upgrade, but was thinking more along the lines of the puma dials or similar. also noticed when looking at dials on t'internet that the puma dials are the same as fiesta mk7 dials lol, cheap skates at ford

  6. Getting a bit peeeed off now lads - pls any advice most gratefully received.

one by one my door locks are starting to either jam, stick, struggle / not respond and now struggling to be opened from either side manually.

Have tried stripping cleaning and re-greasing ( although not quite sure how to get access to the guts.... ) in the process have managed to loose both rear ' pop ups ' but not worrying about them.....

are my lock solenoids going soft ?????

are my greased parts seizing due water ingress ????

is there a single earth or 12 v feed for all locks going high resistance ????

    any ideas

    IVE GOT THIS PROBLEM TOOO

one of my rear doors wont unlock unless manually done from the inside,

please is there a lil trick which will get it to work properly again???

    tom

  7. lol what a great response some of the posts r hilarious

its only past 50m that things start getting complicted for a diver ive dived at 45m many times

i would also worry about the water ingress it might knock out my sterio :(

and a dnt think filling the tyres with water would help ideally tracks would be needed which are 3k per wheel

  8. hi guys

im currently looking at buying a winch and winch bumper at the moment and was just wondering on your views on what im planning to get maybe you know a better place to buy from thats cheaper.

the winch and bumper im currrently looking at is from first four:

the bumper is a tubeular winch bumper with a bar and swivel recovery eyes. (air-con so i dont hav to cut my grille)

the winch is a superwinch EPi9

this package together comes to £850

also im going to need a new battery when i get my winch so was wondering if i should go with a yellow top optima battery or an odyssey battery

    thanks tom

If you are sure that the head gasket wasn't at fault. Then get the radiator checked at a rad place. Especially if it's over three years old.

    lol its 12 yrs old

engine back 2getha and it runs amazing even has better performance.

upon closer inspecion of the gasket there was some traking across from pistons 2 and 3 to the coolant way.

will keep an eye on it now and hopefully itl stay good.

thanks guys, will let you know if theres any problems.

  10. my engine is currently in pieces had the head off today but was too cold so finishing 2mro,

i couldnt see any blows in the gasket and the head and block are perfect flat to within .01mm and no scratches, damage or cracks

when i fill i do follow that procedure.

also when i took my head off i had removed the bottom rad hose to drop coolant but the engine stayed full of coolant, any ideas why? or is this how it shoud be?

    thanks for the quick replys.

    tom

  11. My problem that i get excessive pressure and permanent airlocks turning up in my system.

i am not losing any coolant and i am not overheating, i just dont like knowing the fact that that this permanently happens

th other day i drove 1 mile then left the car to cool for 12 hrs came back to it and the pressure realease that came out when i opend the header tank was massive.

following this i drained the entire system replaced all the jubilee clips and plastic plugs with brass plugs, i then refilled and fully bled the system hoping this would work. although the problem still works.

this wkend i am replacing the head gasket just incase its xhaust gasses getting into the coolant.

i just wondered if anyone else had any ideas or had the same problem..

note. this has only been happening since it boiled all its water and blew the p gasket due to the weather freezeing the heater matrix.

    thanks tom
