  1. I have always called them "Channel Locks" one of the first/best brands. I have several pairs, I like the black handled pair in the photo as they fit my large hands.
  2. Hello, I don`t have the documents you listed, but I have a "dpa pump manual" 21 pages in Adobe Acrobat format. 1.08mb. If it will be of any help. dpa_pump_manual.pdf
  3. Happy Christmas to you, Les. And I hope all forum members have a safe and happy holiday season. Best Wishes!
  4. Not trying to wind you up, I grew up in West Virgina, US and remember Christmas as cold and snowy. One of the things I miss the most is the changing of the seasons, here it is rainy or dry, every day there is 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of dark, sun up and sun down varies by about a half hour, no concept of time passing. This land is in an area of limited access, which means during the rainy season, the road is sometimes unpassable. It is at around 500 meters above sea level, so it is cooler than where I live at 18 meters. I plan to plant oranges, coffee, bananas, papays and other fruits and vegtables. I will build a small shelter for my hammock and spend the hottest days there, it is about 45 minutes (37km) from my house in a SIII diesel. It is a little over two hectacres (23,480 square meters) and after having it surveyed and changing the title it will cost about US$1800. Land in the hils is cheap, because there are no all weather roads, sometimes no electricity, phones and water. By comparsion, land on the beach, (I am on the Pacific side) goes for US$20 per square meter and up. If you don't mind the spiders and snakes, the price is ok! Another pic.
  5. Well it doesn't seem much like Christmas here in Panama, 85-90º, everything is green. I will have to mow the grass and pick oranges from a couple trees in the garden. I bought a couple hectacres up in the hills, hope to get out there, and plant some trees. Hope everyone have a safe and happy holidays. Area where I bought some property, cannot understand why my wife doesn't like it! Area is perfect for the LR!
  6. FWIW I am using a Gilsson MCX external antenna on my Garmin GPS60, cost $30, the Garmin antenna was $70. Seems to work well with the USGS maps here in Panama. Don't know if they make one for your unit. The antenna is mounted in the spare tire, it has a magnetic base, I use the simple gps as there is not any map software for my area. Good luck!

    Safari

Hi, No clips on my '79, Santana 88 Especial but it has the safari roof, alpine windows, roof vents, split rear door and a vanity mirror in the passengers sunvisor. I have another parts LR 88, it has the safari roof and the clips on the tub. Tub off the LR with clips, it is a trailer now. Santana
  8. Hello, FWIW, I am not an expert on LR's, I have a 79', swb, single circuit, no servo. When I bought it it had a brake m/c with a seperate tank for the fluid. Do not remember the parts number, but the bore was only 5/8". I now have the same type master cylinder on both brake and clutch, it is the clutch m/c parts number: 550732, it has a 3/4" bore. It was an improvement over the old brake m/c, but will not help you much if you are lookin for a 1 1/8" bore. I think my brake wheel cylinders were 1" rear and 1 1/8" on the front. Sorry can' t be of more help. Master cylinder # 550732 brake and clutch.
  9. Thank you. But if you seen the freight cost for shipping new parts from England to Central America you would see why I get so much practice making things. Besides, I am retired and working on the LR keeps me busy.
  10. They wouldn't ship new ones to Panama, so I made new liners for my SIII, used 1,5mm galvanized. . I put some wahers between the footwell and liner, makes a gap so the crud does not collect and easer to clean with a hose. Left side (LHD) Right side Shiny things are the washers
  11. I have a 79 SIII, swb, Santana and it has the reinforcement on the front and rear axles. Export CKD I guess.

  15. Just thinking, if the rotor magnets were saturated, at maximun excitation current, might clip the tops of the sine wave. Or a gated SCR will clip the wave but I don't think they are used in small alternators/voltage regulators. This should not affect the frequency of the sine wave, only the maximun voltage. I think, it has been a long time since I was in school. The rpm of the rotor will determine the frequency of the sine wave, the amount of excitation current applied to the rotor will determine the peak voltage of the sine wave.
