  1. It's not easy to register a car with any modifications here so would suggest anyone buying would need some serious "wasta" down at the traffic department if they wanted it registering!
  2. I'm tempted to arrange a viewing to actually see it in the flesh! I won't be taking the GBP 100,000 with me though!!!
  3. A nice, subtly modified 1983 RR classic for sale. http://dubai.dubizzle.com/motors/used-cars/land-rover/range-rover/2015/6/1/range-rover-2/?back=dWFlLmR1Yml6emxlLmNvbS9tb3RvcnMvdXNlZC1jYXJzLz9wYWdlPTImcHJpY2VfX2d0ZT0mcHJpY2VfX2x0ZT0meWVhcl9fZ3RlPSZ5ZWFyX19sdGU9MTk5MCZraWxvbWV0ZXJzX19ndGU9JmtpbG9tZXRlcnNfX2x0ZT0mc2VsbGVyX3R5cGU9JmtleXdvcmRzPSZpc19iYXNpY19zZWFyY2hfd2lkZ2V0PTAmaXNfc2VhcmNoPTE%3D&pos=35 Martin
  4. I know a few of us must have these... http://fatfingers.com/default.aspx I have used this website a few times and picked up a few bargains as a result. As stated in previous post though, people are now getting savvy to this so not as many bargains to be had.
  5. Anyone know what this is? Looks like there's meant to be a gun sticking through the windscreen! http://tnydu.biz/DOhGlf Just shy of 7 grand!!
  6. I got Magnum beads from D4x4 after several unsuccessful attempts at balancing 285/75's on Paddock's 16x8 modulars with weights. Had the same tyres on LR alloys and they were easily balanced so put it down to the poor quality wheels. Anyway, what a difference, occasional very minor imbalance after starting from standstill and going through the 80-90kph range but soon balances itself out and remains so until you stop, other than that they are great. I used the amount recommended for my tyre size as per D4x4 and that was fine, and the imbalance previously was of rip your arms out proportions, it was frightening. I originally left the weights thinking this would help but found it better after removing all the weights.
  7. Lots of RR and RR Sports, not so many Defender's! I don't think the diesel only engine choice helps. In Abu Dhabi City I know of only three places which sell diesel and you can queue for an hour with all the trucks, Dubai is a little better. You do see quite a few RR classics out in the desert owned by locals. Here's a few pics of my 90 taken yesterday, and I actually could have done with the simex, motorway was over a foot deep with water in places on my way home! Photography by passenger!
  8. Has anyone installed a switch to disable the traction control to save having to pull the fuse? Cheers, Martin
  9. The stop solenoid on my Mazda 35 SLTi looks very similar to that, might be worth trying Motor & Diesel as they stock parts for that engine. As stated in an earlier post though, this is a permanantly energised solenoid when engine is on so will need to be a decent bit of kit and therefore probably pricey. Martin
  10. Thanks for the responses, agree with all the comments regarding japanese cars generally being RHD but I have seen a few '97 japanese import V8 90's here that are LHD and you cannot register a RHD car or a car converted to RHD as they check the VIN for original configuration. From what I can gather they may have been "left over" NAS 90's as '97 was the last year LR sold the 90 in the US due to legislation. Dunsfold is a good idea too - cheers! I've attached a pic of one, any further info appreciated. Thanks, Martin
  11. Hi, I was wondering if anybody has any info on Japanese spec D90's? Are they LHD? I found this http://www.eastcoastrover.com/INFOD90.html but nothing more! Cheers, Martin
  12. Thanks for the info guys, I'll have to check if the spigot is there. If it isn't, can I scavange the internal bits from an old transfer box or are these parts that is best installed new. Martin
  13. Hi there, I'm currently living in Abu Dhabi and went to see an '04 disco yesterday, I thought the 04 model had the difflock reinstated which is something I want for sand driving but this had only the knob showing high / low and the lever would definitely not move to the left although the sticker on the facia showed the difflock gate. This has left me a little confused, the vehicle comes with loads of receipts and history and shows no sign of having the box changed. Am I confused about the 04 having the difflock or was it only for certain markets? Any advice greatly received! Thanks, Martin
  14. Thanks, I will take your advice, much appreciated. Regards, Martin
  15. Thanks Fridgefreezer, seen the video before, I'm afraid that was what inspired us to go for it after making a mess of installing a new dumb iron and knowing there was further chassis work to do. Then again, you guys make plenty of stuff look easy! Good point about the rigidity of the body, plan was to use the windscreen mounts at top of bulkhead and also sling under the rear body to create a four point lift, might have a reconsider. The grinder will be used exstensively if we want to get done in a weekend! Hadn't thought about having some aluminium sheet either, bound to be required, cheers! Thanks for all your replies, Martin
