  1. My old man just bought a pair of Leica 10x42HD's. I had a little look and they were great in the twilight hours. When I alsed him how the compared to his (much) cheaper Nikon's he said he couldn't tell the difference! so thats a £100 on the Niks and £1500 on the Leica... Go figure

As above TRY BEFORE YOU BUY.

I love Leica 'red dot' optics, I have a D-Lux 3 camera but... you have to draw the line.

  2. After all that........ My 110 is an MY> so has the single back door, I just use the standard wheel carrier and don't have a problem with clearance, I was worried about it at first especially off road but haven't had any issues.

    Jason.

I haven't had the standard carrier on for a long time, it also depends on what size rubber your using. so whats the clearance? 3-4"? 4-5"? just give me a figure ;)

  3. Does the rear prop shaft have a telescope too? Or does it approximate a circle better so that it doesn't need one?

Either way, the shaft I have is almost certainly the one for my year/model -- what could have happened to mess with the transfer box or front axle that makes it no longer fit?

    Thanks

    Alex

Is it all original? T box, axle, Diff, radius arms etc.

Tell us what you have and what part number you ordered.

  4. Ar, I was wondering what all the confusion was about regarding weights, fulcrums and axis.

No, I meant the spare on the back door of the 90 :) it sits too low so im going to chop the swing away about and move it up. I have yet to get around to attaching the spare to the trailer :)

  5. Jason, been meaning to ask. how high is your spare wheel off the hitch?

I have to remove mine at the moment to allow it to open up and will soon be chopping the swing away and welding it higher. I was just wondering how high to make it. I was thinking 6" should do it.

    Any thoughts?

  6. Mine came out with a very large hammer also...but i did manage to smash the vice off the bench at the same time!

    no such luxury for me.

A block of wood and the floor is all I have to work with. Still, when it comes to bush repairs atleast I dont know any different!

bushes are being stubborn now. going to burn them out.

Did the new joint go in easy enough Boris?

  7. it took 15.6 tons at my local engineering shop to press mine in... good luck with the hammer!

I must be one of the chosen few :D a couple of dozen hammer blows and it came out in 1 piece. Didn't even need to touch the bolts.

Now I just need to get the old bushes out and push in my new Superpro ones.

Glad I got on with this now, the joint boot had split and there wasn't much grease in it and the bushes are pretty bad. I suppose it has all been on for >16 years!

  8. options options, decisions decisions!

I like the idea of buying one pressed into the housing but has anyone had one for any length of time? MPS do one for £60, Gwyn Lewis ~£90. These are unbranded.

adjustable and greasable? any need for this?

I can pick up a Delphi for less than £20 delivered so I am tempted to 'have a go' myself (yes I have read the threads  ).

I just want to know how long the unbranded ones are likely to last and is the delphi a better/safer bet?

    cheers knowlegable ones!

  9. I like that :) i like the filler :)

yep LPG. i reckon i'll get a 360mm x 578mm cyclider type tank took under the back againts the inside of the rear cross member which will be around 50l. which i'd agree isnt huge,

or with your idea i could put the td5 year tank in and remove the drivers tank and fit a under slug type tank in there which may allow me to use a bigger tank.

or relocate your battery and fit one there.
