  1. IIRC, you had the artic camo disco?

First question would be, what did you pay for it?

Yeah that was mine :D errr to be honest i rather reveal the price when i have seen what people thimk or you might laugh at me lol, it was a great deal of money :D
  2. Cheers, the reason why im asking is that i sold my disco to buy this for playing with and pug 306 for everyday, but im really missing driving a landy everyday and hate driving my jelly mould of a car :rolleyes: so was just gauging reaction on prices to see if its feesable to sell it and get an ordinary 90 that i can just mod for greenlaneing :D or if it seems the value is to low in the Hybrid i will keep her a keep on modding :D;) thanks

  3. Hi guys im after your advice please as most off you seem to be quite good with your hybrids and special trucks. What i have is a ser IIa 109 body on a rangie chassi, the body has been cut too a 100" the spec as follows

apart from that she is bare inside easier to clean etc

    rear dislocation cones

    waffle board holders

The only bad point is the paint work but i will be painting it nato green soon with black chequer plate  Thanks

  4. In the back of mine the floor is missing!!!! the reason being is there is the fuel tank in tha back and sooner or later a rear winch will be fettled to sit in there :D also its so easy to clean. As for the waffle boards i think the tried and tested waffle board holders across the back is good an easy to get to etc etc, but if you do decide to go along the route of fabricating your own tub, pics please ;)

  5. I know it has already been mentioned, but it sounds most like a Supacat HMT to me. http://www.supacat.com/hmt%204x4.htm

The SAS have recently bought some of these. They are bit of a big buggy looking type vehicles, and air portable, so would be small enough to fit in an ISO container. Had quick look on the web but not suprisingly couldn't find anything sensible about their role with the UK MOD.

looking at the super cat that looks the same just more stripped down with no cab doors etc etc  loverly i want one
  6. Can anyone list the major changes the current British military Pinzgauer has undergone since the earlier 2.5 litre aircooled, petrol powered, drumbraked model that we in Australia got in very limited quantities in the 1980's?Having witnessed the very ordinary performance of these models both 4x4 and 6x6 in offroad trials compared to properly sorted LandRover and Landcruisers with difflocks, I am of the opinion that there is little in the Pinzgauer platform to excite cross country vehicle enthusiasts from a pure offroad ability viewpoint.

    Bill.

Broughton Burrows is one of the testing grounds for the SAS to train there guys in desert conditions, i know the truck you are referring too but when i asked them about em they were cagey fair enough  there like a mix of a stripped down unimog with a roll cage for a waepons paltform, they have a hell of an engine in them from what i could hearthey move them around by DROPS and iso containers ;) As my little wolf i was driving round there was puny compared to em :lol::lol:
  7. There was also a batch of 90 hardtop's made as 50th annivesary models, IIRC 300Tdi/R380 gearbox & County interior trim kits
why do they fettle with collectors editions my old man has himself a rangie csk that he is starting to referb the only thing he had done on that was the engine and suspension by overfinch :ph34r: loverly :D cant wait till its back to its former glory :D
  8. I'm, in Swindon. it'll be laugh!

I tried this years ago when i had a 200Tdi 90 hard top, and a mate had a hilux 2.4 diesel. he had "silly" (in them days) 35" tyres.... ("wooooo" all the crowd say...) and my 90 had 7.50 XCL's on.

we were on Salisbury plain, dry day, brownish earth.

one of my little tow ropes (V8 Freak knows the ones! :D ) towbar to towbar.

he tried pulling me. i stuck my foot on the brake and stopped him. i then drove forward in 1st low and dragged him backwards whilst he was still driving forwards.

    Kids eh?

on another note.... ages ago i was on excercise, i was driving a Spartan CVR(T) 7 ton tracked recce vehicle. one of our Foden EKA 27 ton 6x6 recovery trucks pulled up onto a grass verge and proceeded to sink at an alarming angle. so we put the recovery bar on the back of the spartan (i was parked on a tarmac road) and the foden 10 ton front winch was attached to me. i say with handbrake on and foot on the brake pedal. i was pulled backwards.

so was informed to engage "emergency low" (1st gear, just very low ratio), as i couldn't see what was happening behind me, i just did it. revving the nuts off of it, i was still dragged backwards, whist driving forward in a 7 ton tracked tank!

once i got out did i finally see the state of the road and the grass verge! :D

he he i have driven foden reckers and done a couple of silly things in them, love em to bits :D
  9. I once saw a couple of blokes doing this and thought what a pair of tw*ts they looked.

    more like a pi**ng competition.

    daft and risky IMHO.

Ps TXT speak on forums? ever so slightly annoying to read, anyones else agree?

typing the correct length word costs no more and keeps the site one step above from other sites where it seems common place

    amongst youngsters.

Now I sound like my Dad

fair enough  im not sure, what text speak are you on about?? im sure that IMHO= TEXT SPEAK ;)
  10. i thought it was a normal one like the rear too. if so leave the truck on the floor & lock the center diff, then when you drop the front prop the tbox cant rotate when you undo it. cant move it? breaker bar on to a jack, bet it comes undone before the car comes off the floor.
i Back up this theroy i done mine 3mths ago in a simlar fashion ;)
  11. Technically this could be a bit spammified but I think may be of interest to some forum users and apart from buying loads of stuff from them I don't have any connection with the company so...

Just got some bumph from Bearmach this morning on new products and included in it is a series of straight through centre pipes (no silencer), no prices on any of them but I bet they are cheaper than the orange ones! Seems to be a full range for 200, 300, Td5 and V8, 90s and 110s.

There's also an EGR blanking kit too, for a Td5.

May be worth an enquiry if anybody is thinking about a straight pipe, be interesting to know cost too... I was going to put a straight through pipe on my 90 until I looked underneath and discovered there is only one silencer on the latest ones  may have been a bit too noisy

Ah nuts i have just booked mine at a local chav exhuast place to build a custom one :blink::unsure:
